risky debtors, consumption pirates.
like lights draw moths, i attract this slime,
they use up my money, my drugs and my time.

feel free to spend my money,
suck my cigarettes and drink my beer,
leaving after that freebie hit,
your ignorance is my greatest fear.

profit and loss is the bottom line
a cut throat profession of unique design.
i trade in units of illicit crime
collateral buys measured time.

i hear your excuses, they're always the same
so sorry you think i'm playing a game.
be sure of your word and aware of my knife

Nice work. As Resque said, the rhyming scheme was interesting to read, what could have been monotonous, was given a very interesting twist by the addition of the odd rhyme out.

It was a very easy poem for me to relate to, I liked it.
