Hey! I’ve found ketamine to be highly therapeutic and a fantastic anti-depressant when properly utilized. However I’ve also abused it via IM and IV quite frequently. Nasal use rarely lead to any extreme abuse, it was only when I used needles that things became problematic. I’m looking to revisit its anti-depressant effects after a 3 month break, but do not want to slip into old habits, especially considering I’ve been doing very well getting clean off of opioids and stimulants, and now spend most of my days sober, only occasionally enjoying some mild gabergics like gabapentin and pregabalin. I still have needles around as I use steroids and peptides, which is yet to be an issue.
So the question is: what could be added to a nasal spray solution so that it couldn’t be injected, but would retain its absorption into the mucus membranes? I could see xanthan gum being a plausible solution, although I can’t think of much else. My other options are to have the dosage controlled by a friend or locking up my syringes. I’d prefer to be able to administer on my own terms, although I can see how that’s a bit more likely to cause problems.
Mods if this question is a little too risky please delete this, I’m simply posting for the sake of harm reduction.
