Benzos Crazy Restoril experience

Hi, new to the board. I have been user of all kinds of drugs for sometime now (i'm 28 years old). I have used many benzos, u know the usual like ativan, xanax, klonopin, valium, and serepax. i've done halcion a couple of times, but it was years ago. i usually use xanax (usual dose of 2-3 mg at once) because its always easy to get but i enjoy them all equally, especially with opiates or sometimes with some beer.

recently however, me and a few friends had a little get together for some drinking and what not and i got to try a "new" benzo for the first time. my friend gave me 3 restorils (30 mg) and said that they were somewhat heavier than xanax, so i took all 3. I remember everything that happened immediately after taking them but at some point i guess i blacked out and can't remember anything.

the problem with this is is that i allegedly became quite violent. according to my friends i had strangled one of them to near unconsciousness and i guess (according to them) i had been sexually harassing one of the females all night.

needless to say, the next day i was completely embarrased and horrified upon hearing what had happened. my friends were a bit angry with me, but nonetheless they were "understanding" that i was having a weird drug reaction.

I thought this was very odd because i have been taking benzos for a longtime and this has NEVER happened to me.

Anyone with similar experiences?

What did you mix it with?

Nothing really. I took the capsules earlier in the night. I remember i had a Budweiser in my hand (my first one of the night and i hadn't even been through half of it yet) when i took all 3 capsules. i remember socialising and about 20 mins in, i remember it hitting me like a ton of bricks. the last thing i remember was me thinking "shit, i should've just took 2 of em" and that's it.

90mg of temazepam is more than enough to put you in blackout mode, even with tolerance. Unfortunately that is the unpredictability of taking high doses of benzos. Are you sure you didnt drink a lot more alcohol once you were blacked out? Who can say why you behaved violently, just dont take temazepam again and stick to benzos you know won't make you try and kill your friends.
Oh and for harm reduction sake, next time just take 1 and see what happens, you can always take more, but chucking back 3 of anything your first time is pretty reckless.

Sounds like a classic blackout. I never had one though I've been drinking heavily with benzo's at times. Zolpidem blackout is the only one I know of, and that's very easy to accomplish, hence I don't touch it any more.

This is actually typical and if you had done some research before swallowing 90mg temazepam with alcohol not to mention no tolerance, knowledge, or experience with these extremely potent, constantly underestimated CNS depressants. The strange behavior that you have "never experienced" before is very typical of benzodiazepine abuse, in fact I am sure that you have done things you regret before while under the influence, you might not remember or it may not have been an event this magnitude, but you should take this as a lesson of what benzodiazepines often can do by lowering your inhibitions too far.

I highly recommend that you educate yourself further about these pharmaceuticals and what you put in your body in general, the behavior you displayed makes me very uncomfortable because you don't seem to show any regard for harm reduction or the dangers of combining such potent CNS depressants as alcohol and benzodiazepines, you also mentioned opiates, which is another drug that when used in combination with these others, has killed thousands of people every year.

Do some research and you will find that this behavior is strongly linked with the abuse of benzodiazepines and that it is not some weird rare reaction just because you've never noticed it before to this extent. These potentially dangerous side effects are made increasingly likely and increasingly dangerous upon combination with other CNS depressants such as alcohol, to an exponential degree. The stuff you're experiencing is even listed in the package insert (which I understand, you are not receiving automatically with your pills since you are not legally prescribed them) but yeah, if you had just Googled or made a thread here before you could have avoided this.

So yeah, another lesson to be learned: Ask questions first, Make informed decisions later. There's not much that we or anyone else can do to help you after the fact of irresponsibly and carelessly dosing drugs, and this can have dire consequences, it's common sense really!

All in all, I'm glad that you didn't stop breathing and die in your sleep, or wake up in jail.

That sounds like the typical temazepam experience to me when combined with alcohol. Hopefully you didn't do anything too stupid.

Next time look up the drugs you take before one of your friends hands you a pill and tells you to take it. I can't remember a single time that I've been given or bought pills without looking them up and I think it's a shame that some people blindly trust others. Like tricomb said, you are lucky you didn't end up in jail.

^^This.

And what I got from reading your post is that you were in "black-out" mode.
Please be careful next time, logically temazepam is a hypnotic and when used for any other reason besides sleeping almost always ends badly, especially at those doses.

So "crazy restoril experience" is not so crazy at all.
Your experience was pretty much a "text book" caution.

as above. why would you take 3 when you were also drinking alcohol, and your friend TOLD YOU UP FRONT that they were strong? that was just totally irresponsible.
