Back at new years eve me and my girlfriend went out and on the night we both had a couple of pills and were convinced to try ketamin. on returning home the next day my girlfriend got very sick. to the point were we had to go to the hospital. anyway we told the doctor what she had taken and sat the long wait for the results. and to our surprise the results said that there was no mdma/speed/ketamin or any other drug in her system. does anyone have a reason why no substances were found when thats what they were looking for??

Perhaps it actually wasn't ketamine? I know this may be a simple answer, but so many people with little experience say they have taken 'x' substance when it turns out to be false.

Soma is right. A lot of the time people take pills they havent tested which "fuck them up" and are convinced its Ketamine, PMA, any number of drugs the media have hyped up as the new killer drug.
The moral is... please test your pills!
(i have no idea what happened to your G/F. Describe what she was feeling etc...)

Can you tell us what symptoms your g/f had? AFAIK K isn't screened for in the standard test (urine drug screen), although perhaps it can be tested for in an extended test (anyone know?) Erowid says it's possible, but not common.

Ok heres the deal. We told them that she had taken two pills and we know it was a line of ketamin because it came from a close friend whoknows his stuff
and it was a blood test
the sickness ended up being some intence stomach bug
but my question is why no abnormallities came up in the test results.??

this could be pure coincidence but a couple weeks back I went out and had the same thing...
I had a couple of bikkies that were pretty good, nothing abnormal - went home and felt real sick. By morning I was throwing up and had a fever etc.
At first thought it was a real bad comedown but cause I had never felt anything like it before I went to the doctor and it turned out to be a stomach bug!!
mayby there was a sick DD around or a bad batch of bikkies that were handled by a sick person??

Ketamine is rapidly absorbed from the I.V./I.M route. Peak plasma levels being attained at 1 minute (I.V.), 5 minutes (I.M) and 30 minutes for the oral administration. Ketamine undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism (90%) with only 5% appearing in fecal waste. The drug s terminal elimination half-life is between 2-4 hours in adults and 1-2 hours in children
Guess its really really short half life??
try http://www.arabdoctorsnet.net/DRUG/Drugs_Anaesthesia.htm
and http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic3/ketamine_cp.htm
and countless more. Just try using the search words half life ketamine in http://www.google.com
