just wanted to revive this thread...Wordy your list is amazing, haven't read any Ellis or much Burroughs, but Auster and Dick are definitely my two favourite authors far. I was thinking about this a lot today actually, while reading Auster's New York Trilogy.. I'm almost done "Ghost". fucking PHENOMENAL stuff.... I have Leviathan and Timbuktu just waiting to be read.

Dick is awesome too...I've read A Scanner Darkly, Valis, Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep?, The Man in the High Castle, Counter-clock World, Ubik, and Eye in the Sky. all simply, fucking, amazing. Dammit.

The New York Trilogy is my favourite work by Auster.

I need to read some more Philip K Dick...

Ghosts was fucking amazing. I'm now partway through The Locked Room...looks to be another great story. So far, one of the best books I've ever read.
