Greetings everyone. Do any Bluelighters know anything about the craigslist sex scene, and the etiquette? I havent had sex for like 3 months and I dont really go clubbing any more, so Ive been looking for some lovin. Yesterday I posted a description of myself in the "casual encounters" section, basically just posted my age and described what I look like (camera phone broken). I was out running around town, and by the time I got home to check my email, the girl who responded to me must have already found her fix. She didnt call me after I emailed her back with my number (it was a couple hours before I got back to her), which bummed me out. So have any of you Bluelighters done the CL hookup? Is there any rules or advice you would give for someone looking to get connected on CL? Any craigslist etiquette to know about that will increase my chances? Or even just some funny stories about CL hookups. Im gonna try again later, hopefully with a more effective hook next time.
 
I think you need to post a pic. Even if it's just your body, like a chest pic--you'd get more responses. Definitely say that you're straight, what fetishes you're into and NOT into (cuz girls be crazy), no STDs, wear protection,... maybe even suggest a actual date beforehand if you're hesitant or nervous?

I don't have any funny stories, more sad stories.. my classmate did a study of CL hookups (psychology). Merely posted an ad and analyzed the responses.. which some got pretty sad. Anyhow, totally unethical and was NOT approved by any board what so ever but very interesting stuff. Sad stuff, I mean.
 
No sad stories please lol... The casual sex boards are chock full of people, so meeting like this must be somewhat common. Im gonna have to get up a picture one way or another, my older pics dont have as much muscle as I do now. But Ill probably be trying this again over the weekend, Ill update the thread if anything happens. I've used CL before when I was working. A lot of the replies were from bots/spammers trying to get you to sign up for various dating websites to see their pictures, because, (actual quote)'They can't attach them to emails'.

When they were genuine people, I noticed that (there's no nice way to put this) they were nearly always 'bottom of the barrel' type people.

Don't forget to add if you can host or not, if you can travel (if you can't host) and what you're looking to do.
 
If you are a straight guy looking for a nice girl for no strings attached then CL will be a disappointment. Most women who fall into this category will never have to stoop that low. Most will just need to dress up one day at work and some one will put their hand up to full fill their needs.

You are better off swallowing your pride and hitting a bar or club for the night. Your chances of being robbed or disappointed will be diminished.

i've heard of this being an issue. I think the warning I was given = that if a hookup sounds too good to be true, it probably is...
 
Yeah ^. I agree. Go in solo (maybe bring a friend), get up chatting and get some digits! Work up from there. Quality takes time. :)

+ There's so much other new causal sex sites that all the hotties went to. No offense, but CL is kind of outdated. Sry, I don't know any of these other sites but maybe someone else does and can chime in. :)
 
Thanks for the advice everyone, Im realizing that this might not be the best way for some strange... Still gonna try it though, now that Im curious about it. I do realize those hookup sites are probably much better, but I believe you need a monthly subscription to utilize those services. Im probably just going to break down and hit up the club this weekend.. I guess what I was really trying to avoid was having to dress up real nice, buy a bunch of overpriced drinks, bumble around crowded clubs with shitty music and look for people to dance with. I just want some quick lovin without the hassle, but seems like you gotta put in some work for it if youre not in a relationship. I aint ready for that again either though...

Ill report back sometime over the next few days when I seal the deal on Craigslist. Im also probably going to look into buying a subscription to a hookup site too...

Meeting like this is not uncommon but use your common sense. Get a photo and talk to the girl over the phone before agreeing to meet.
Don't worry about your older pics not showing your muscle tone, she's not likely interested in that anyway. Use a condom and be safe.

I have hetero male friends who would post on Craigslist in both the men for women section and the casual encounters/NSA hook up section and they said how they got a lot of spam, game players, gay men who were desperate and thinking that hetero/straight guys actually wanted them and have sex with men, prostitutes or undercover police posing as prostitutes, and the women they did meet who were real were rather busted, ugly, and fat.
 
Try to respond to some of the couples ads. Sometime you get much better responses. Many swinger connections want to swap or do the cuckold game.

I think the way to get there attention is not through a pic. for work when I advertise I don't show pictures until iv got there complete attention. You need eye catching post something that's different not a hi my names 25 from blah blah blah. Think of something that gets them intrigued and curious. And tell them something that you can offer besides the typical physical relation and someone to talk to.
I probably get more clientele then most because of how Iv advertised.

Haha. It def help real if I had my license!

If you are ready to avoid usual Craigs List "catches" , and if you are not looking for some very hot chick, you may have luck to find something "average".

Any case, be careful and always use condom. Always have prepaired escape strategy because some females post their old (10 years ago) pictures, lie for ages etc. Some are baby hunters. Some are really crazy, but from my experience, on every 5-6 meeting you will find one decent.
