Crackling Sounds While On Opiates

Hey I searched and didn't see much about this. I haven't been to BL in ages, but I'm back for today.

This is just a quick question thread no need to make a big long deal out of it.
I'm curious has anyone else when on opiates (H, Oxy, Hydrocodone, Codeine) ever experienced loud noises becoming crackly? Like out of a broken speaker? When I'm high/nodding if I'm listening to music loudly or next to someone who is talking loudly the sound is all crackly, like when you have a radio station that is only half tuned in, you still hear the voice but extra fuzz and static.

I've thought about this for so long, and can not figure out a single reason why this would be.

it only happens when I'm using, and none of my friends have said that this happens to them. It's not every single time, but about 70% of the time.

Hey Kanga! Yep, I've had this before and I've also had normal sounds increase in volume to the point where it becomes distorted! No idea why and I haven't researched anything lol. It especially happens with voices as opposed to music. I'm gonna google and see what's what!

this has happened to me too, actually quite frequently. when i would use painkillers (like vicodin, percocet) it didn't usually happen. but when i would do heroin it would happen basically every time; almost to the point where i could barely hear the person. but i always thought it was just because i was way high/way crazy 8) but as for reasoning, i have no clue. i just saw your post and had to say something, because i thought it was only me!

Just did a bit of research and asked an experienced mate of mine about it..

It's pretty much down to general euphoria apparently! And isn't exclusive of other drugs, happens with amphetamines (I've only had it with opiates personally) and even weed!

That's all I was able to find but hopefully someone else can find something more useful than that, haha..

Hm, I'm not sure because I've never done Amphetamines, but I know it only happens when I'm on opiates. It's weird, I can almost feel it happening in my ear, super weird. We must figure out why *shhhcrackle* this ishhh *crackle crackle* happening.
 
yes sir. sometimes i'll answer to someone who's not there. while noddng i usually hear friends but mostly my wife talking to me and i'll answer and snap out of it and no one is around. lol but yes everything fades in and out for me while nodding like someones messing with the volume. not sure if its the same but auditory issues do occur
