Cocaine Crack wasting and not taking it properly?

So I had a question about smoking. I have had this going on about 3 months now. About a gram a day. Cook it well. Get different quality obviously. However I try not to smoke soda as I notice the paranoid anxiety thoughts pop up. Just uncomfortable? Is it the quality of the product too? A gram is yielding about .8 grams.
Also I have been using Copper wire as I got told its a better filter.
Just finding its not a decent filter as I get really no resistance taking a hit.
Mitigated this by using ash at the end of the pipe. Using a straight hitter for weed also using a screen.
Mitigate wastage by using just enough for a blast. Also using a cover and placing the pipe upside down after each hit.

Should I use a scrubie as chore?

Also holding it in for 30 seconds. Hits don't give that buzz anymore.
