When this happened to me, I refused. That was when I was using cocaine far more than I should have been, too. Still wasn't that addicted. I did try crack once, but it was free, and a waste of powder.
 
You guys outta read Cocaine: an Autobiography by Dominic Streatfield, by far, a most excellent tome on everything u could possibly ever want to know about Cocaine. Streatfield documents the decline of cocaine use in the early to mid 20th century, and tracks its subsequent rise on the heels of the blossoming drug culture of the 1960's. One interesting point involves the attempted duplication, by an American distributor, of the smoked variety he sampled in a South American labaratory. Unawarre of the crude nature of the mixture, he set a scientist upon the task; and the result was not the comparably weak cocaine smoked in the remote laboratories, but the first ever purification of cocaine into freebase. This massively more potent form, together with the relatively short nature of the high, were to revolutionize the drug culture in America, especially in the inner cities... AND SO THUS CRACK WAS BORN....and an overzealous media fed the frenzy ...sealing *cracks* haphazard and unsavory reputation to this very day. Unfair indeed.

It is impossible to understand the etymology behind the word *CRACK* , amongst other things, unless one knows a bit about the history of cocaine.
The chapter on CRACK in this book is excellent...a true eye opener.

i smoked rocks a couple years back and I saw a small taste of the so-called "culture" ( if you must use that word)... I almost always did it alone b/c most of the people involved with that shit are retarded, liars, pieces of shit.... not to knock any smokers on bluelight.

Iv read some discusions just totally bagging ppl who smoke crack as if they are scum.....ther are ppl who just smoke it a couple of times a week just like taking any other drug...or as part of a rotation thing some ppl (eg me :) ) hav goin ;) I smoke it cos i like it and i have been for awhile, just like other stuff...we'r not all fiends
 
fiend or not everyone should boycot crack. if you've got your little habbit under control then good for you. but think about all the people that don't. think about how many lives are scarred because of it. for that reason alone i will never touch that shit.

and not to sound completly cliche, but people don't just wake up one day and decide that they're gonna sell all they're shit for crack. you don't magically become hooked. it's a gradual process and like other drugs its just fun at first.

have some fucking sense people.

^^^under that reasoning ALL drugs have ruined lots of live. You think Russian cartels runing MDMA haven't killed and coerced, stolen and destroyed all in the name of profit for an illegal industry? If so, you're naive. Heroin addicts sell their shit for drugs too. I've seen kids steal their parents credit card, max out the cash advance, adn blow it all on E. People blow their savings on booze. Any drug can ruin anyone. Doesn't matter what it is.

Hell, people kill each other over large volumes of pot. Why? Because it's a lot of fucking money involved.

Drugs are drugs. Doesn't matter what they are. Saying one is bad or more bad than another is hypocritical.

But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night. :\

I know a number of people that make six-figure incomes and would rather smoke it than snort it. Why? They can't afford to always have "a cold" at work, and feel they need the cartilidge in their nose. 8(

i wasn't talking about the 'industry'. i was talking about addiction. sure people get killed and all that but that's a little far from the original topic.

and as for the "Saying one drug is worse than another is hypocritical".. i disagree. There is no way you can actually believe that a daily pot smoker and a daily crack smoker are on the same level. also, people don't get addicted to mushrooms and sell all they're possesions to get them. i wouldn't single out crack as being the worst drug. there are a few that tend to fuck people's lives up more than others. but since crack was the topic........

i'm a little sensitive when it comes to this topic because i have witnessed a full-blown crack addiction. someone very close to me has an on-going problem with it and i can say that crack is fucked up and evil.

like i said "if you've got you're little habbit under control, good for you." I'm not trying to be anyones parent. to each his own. i'm just providing another point of view.
 
I've seen people effectively ruin their life with hallucinagens and weed. They don't do anything. They lack motivation. Are too scatterbrained to do anything.

Just because you've got all your teeth and dont steal doesn't mean drugs didn't ruin your life.

i'm not trying to downplay the fact that all drugs can have a negative effect on you. the negative effects of a crack addiction are among the worst.

from what ive seen personally crack is way more destructive than powder. a guy i know just sold his camry for crack. hes 40-something and has a family to support. he takes a bus to work now.

Exactly. I know people who just did that not long ago and they were sniffing and snorting and all kinds of unpleasant shit because the substance that is was cut with messed up their noses. It also slowed them getting high on what they were snorting the next day (not coke) and they seemed like they were sick or had bad allergies the whole time. Fuck all that I don't want that junk up in my nose. :)
