Hi, im a Chronic Pain Patient with a Terribly high tolerance... Ive been taking Pain Meds for over a decade now... about 4-6 years ago i was abusing the meds and taking heroin, i went to a meth. clinic that screwed up my tolerance terribly and didnt help, after that i got on suboxone... i was able to get my self under control and back to normal, treatable levels.
Currently I Take Oxycodone 30 6xday and Oxycontin 80 TID... my Dr is willing to give an increase but the problem is, im currently taking the OCIR 8x/day and OCXR QID, and i really need an upgrade FROM THAT, not my prescribed dose (Dr Knows this more or less...)
I was thinking of going to Subs to Lower my Tolerance back down to a more managable level, but i fear the Severe pain and Crap feeling thatll come with this...
I was thinking maybe i could ask for a Fen Patch to add to my current meds insted, the problem being i dont want to push too much and i do truely want to lower the dose of meds im taking...
The Reason i cant take an incrase to my current dose of meds is my insurance wont pay for anymore than im taking now... (unless i ADD a 3rd Medication or Switch to some other more effective meds)
And Ontop of All this... i do enjoy the pleasure i get from the medications...
With all that to take into account i dont really know what to do... my doctor is Fairly accomidating and willing to work with me... but im not sure what i should do..
If anyone has any advice for me id appreciate it!
