Hello all -
I have frequented this site and a couple others similar to it since I was fairly young. A lot of the personal accounts have made me laugh, I've certainly found useful information when I go searching, and many times (particularly lately) I've found myself wanting to comment on common misconceptions of certain substances or methods of use.

My hesitation to get involved in forums such as this and, hence the title of this post, is simply my skepticism to put my life-away-from-drugs in jeopardy. I am a month away from attaining my degree in biochemistry, and will be completing a premed program next year (in tandem with LOTS of research), so I feel like I have a lot at stake if the academic community ever stumbled upon my name in a thread about IV use. That being said, I find it difficult to ignore a community I have always identified with, and I hope that my perspective on drug use and general health will come of use now and then.

Great introduction and title. Getting involved with this forum is a good way to spread all that you have learned to others that may not have all the information right just yet.

Just be careful and you'll be fine. There are many other people in similar programs such as yourself, and most people don't get involved with medicine/drugs/etc have some personal connection to it.

Just keep in mind that also saying things like "I had this, I used to do this, but not anymore, etc." is better than "I have this, I do this, etc." :)

captain nailed it. there are lots of people in various academia or professional jobs.

if you are really worried, just avoid posting personal details about yourself and make sure the email you registered with is not your professional/school email.

Even if the email address associated with your account is connected to school/work/etc, just don't allow any old Bluelighter to be able to email you, but just the admins. :)

The administrators have no reason to do anything negative to you at all so it is still safe to do this.

I don't believe I have my email address available to all Bluelighters. :)

Q: But Captain, how do I do this?

A: Click here - I got to this page by clicking User CP (located at the top of every page, right of the Home link, but left of all other links at the top), then clicking Edit Options (will be one of many links on the left hand side of the User CP page; it is under the column called Settings & Options). Scroll down until you see Messages & Notifications. Uncheck the second box if it is selected. :)
