Couple questions about meds and shrooms

My first question is: I am on a low dose of zyprexa (5 mg) and i am trying to lower it, and eventually get off it. At the current dose, though, would it inhibit mushrooms much, or completely negate them?

Also, I saw a post asking this but there wasnt any concrete answers. Does wellbutrin affect a shroom trip at all? Ive read that it can dull the trip, or negate it completely. Then Ive also read that it can cause the trip to be stronger than desired. Any ideas?

Zyprexa cancels it out COMPLETELY.. do not eat mushrooms on zyprexa - i took a strong hit of acid on zyprexa and it did nothing..

do you think even taking the smallest dose possible (2.5mg) would still cancel the effects out? the dose im on barely seems to do much as it is...plus i hate it, so im working on getting off it.

It should completely kill your trip. Small doses, probably not. Sure, you may trip, but you're spending good money on mushies and you don't get the whole effect. Try not taking your meds for the duration of your trip. You may want to wait up to 3 days to trip while off of your meds, also.

Alright. Ill probably do that. I should be off the zyprexa by the time i have time to trip :) Sorry if im sounding redundant, but, does anyone know the effect Wellbutrin would have? Cause ive heard conflicting stories. Thanks =D

bupropion is structurally similar to the beta-keto-phen stimulants, and inhibits reuptake up dopamine and norepiniphrine. are you taking wellbutrin right now?

for most antidepressant drugs, there is a certain general trend:
1. a high dose of the drug for a drug-naive person can induce anxiety, psychosis, hallucinations, etc. these symptoms can also manifest for someone just starting a clinical dose. it is likely that combination with a psychedelic drug during this time period will have terrible effects, bad trip, complications etc.
2. after a few weeks of taking the drug, the body has reached an equilibrium (ideally, reduced symptoms of depression) possibly by downregulating or upregulating various chemicals in the brain. for some people, this phase is marked by an inability to trip, since your brain is chemically stable under the effect of the pharmaceutical drug course.
3. discontinued use of the drug may cause a relapse of depression or withdrawal symptoms as your body and brain try to regain equilibrium without the external chemical helper. tripping during this phase is highly discouraged.

yeah, it doesn't answer your question sorry :)
