Benzos Couple of questions about temazepam

A while ago I got some Restoril temazepam caps... the kind which are full of a slightly sweet white gel. First time I have seen benzos in this form (although obviously heard about the whole jellies thing which was a bit before my time). Have to say I loved them... easily the best benzo I've tried.

Then I bought some temazepam pills a few months later... got them from a very reliable source, actually straight from a lab which has produced the best alprazolam and diazepam I've tried. But the temazepam did nothing. Ended up gradually taking more and more till I was eating 200+mg at a time, and still nothing. Gave up and complained to the vendor... he said that temazepam was a weird benzo; that people often didn't get effects from it, and that he had so much trouble with this he was considering discontinuing it, even though it was fully legit and tested.

Funnily enough, after this experimentation with what I assumed were duds my benzo tolerance HAD totally skyrocketed (??)

So two questions: firstly, why the whole jelly thing? Why are other benzos not sold in this form, and does it make a difference to onset/effects/etc?

Secondly: is this really true about temazepam? That some people just don't feel them, or that a tolerance develops insanely quickly?

Well I can't fully answer this but I can tell you that yes, temazepam tolerance hits hard and fast when abused. 70mg isn't actually a very big (recreationally speaking) dose either, as they do come in 30mg caps. Even before I had a heavy benzo tolerance I would have to take 50-60mg for decent (recreational) effects.

So here's the part that's speculation. Since it was obviously produced either clandestinely or off-label, it may have been a poor synth, weak or impure in general. That is all.

thanks for the reply. And for pointing out my mistake: it was not 70mg, it was 7 x 30mg = 210mg (too used to diazepam, clearly).

I have heard about the tolerance. Would be interested why it develops so quickly with this particular benzo.

And what I am still really in the dark about is the whole jelly/gel thing..... why do no other benzos come in this form?

^This.
I had a script of those for awhile, and at first they were fuckin awesome even just taking two of the 15's. But holy fuck!...that faded ridiculously quick, and before I knew it, my tolly for Temaz was skyyyy highhh! My final refill of thirty capsules, I ended up consuming them all in a period of 2-3 hours. It's great at first but that magic goes quick.

And as far as the jellies go, I've wondered the same thing: why just temazepam in gel form?

I have two thoughts to this, as I used to be prescribed temaz in addition to lots of daytime benzos. Most of the others are either in the 1-2mg range (or 5-10 for diaz), so it's a lot more of the active ingredient where benzos are often small pills. Also, temaz is most often used as a sleeping aid, so I can imagine the capsule provides a slightly quicker onset than the larger sized pill they'd have to use.

hmmm... not so sure about this. 30mg isn't so much to fit into into a pill..... paracetamol usually comes in 500mg tablets. Or aspirin, which comes in pills not so much bigger than your average benzo, is usually 300mg.

And why would it be important to have a sleeping pill that worked a bit quicker? You'd think that would be more desirable for something prescribed for eg panic attacks like xanax....

Not that I have any better suggestions than these!

I have experience with Temazepam I used to take 10x T20s at a time, they were underdosed so probably about 100mg at least I was taking and I got a very nice effect from them and I have a tolerance that is just ridiculous so I think your jellies were definitely DUDS !
