Could Zopiclone be used to stop Benzo WD's?

I have a bottle of Zopiclone and I'm almost out of my Ativan which kind of scares me a bit.
Could I use the Zopiclone to ward off my benzo withdrawals since it works on GABA?

yes, there is a pretty high cross tolerance between "Z-drugs" and benzos...

So since it has a cross-tolerance it means that it would stop my withdrawals, right?

yes... but the cross tolerance isn't complete, so you'll need to take a few zopi's to cover your tolerance... stat with one, if you're experiencing insomnia and anxiety take more... also it won't really help for your anxiety, so you might get some "rebound anxiety"

Yes, it can help with your problems getting sleep. Not really the anxiety and although it will help relax your muscles some, it won't help much as an anti-convulsant. Z-Drugs only have noticeable affinity to the GABA alpha1 subunit, responsible for the sedation, but not all the other subunits that benzodiazepines effect.
