I know I need to get back on adderall or I will end up self medicating with stims again, I also know I have to decide whether or not to continue using benzo's that can be dicussed with a doctor, but I am having trouble finding a doc. that accept medicade that's within 20 miles of my home.
And on top of that the only docs I can seem to find are family docs, whom even if were to RX me would a)not really be able to do much in the psych front, and b) how long would they really be able to RX adderall and/or a benzo before trying to push me to another doc?

Is it possible to make this work with your family doc?

Any info would be great, thank you.

Look for psychiatrists through your state's medicaid's system. Generally in urban areas. If you have been prescribed amphetamines and benzos before it shouldn't be too hard as long as they're not closed off to the idea to begin with. It would probably be easier to start with one and then ask for the other. Especially if there are legitimate reasons.

They definitely are for legitimate reasons, however personally I do not feel like getting back on the bezno wagon - it was tough quitting them and right now I've only got a script because of surgery.

I have toyed with the idea of using them again to help with anxiety, but I am unsure if I truly need them.

The amphetamines I use for ADD type symptoms, and honestly I have no urge to seek out any stims if I'm getting the proper medication - it would be like mixing 2 meds for me if I did drugs on top of the amphetamines - If I were to use I'd definitely not want to be taking adderall as well, it would simply amplify negative effects for me.

Using something like d/l amphetamine by prescription for ADD/ADHD is absolutely fine if you need to. It's good to hear you know yourself well regarding the benzos, and I'd just encourage you to avoid them unless absolutely necessary - which it doesn't like they are. Just work on the Adderall for now.

Depending on the doc, it may be a really good idea or a really bad idea to explain how the Adderall is particularly important because you want to avoid illicit stims. I'd avoid mentioning that though, and just focusing on the legitimate reasons you need to take them instead. It also may help to start out by trying something a little easier to get like Vyvanse before Adderall. Or going with one of the other ADD meds than Adderall.

Anyways good luck. Hopefully someone in your state with ADD/ADHD can give some input.
