Ok, not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes....

It's been a while since I've been on here and a lot has happened but here's is the condensed version.

After I was in an accident on Halloween (nodding off) things got progressively worse for me so I decided to get clean. I prepared myself for an at home cold turkey detox. Well, I am exactly 95.5 hours into it and have not experience any withdrawals, maybe a little anxiety on day 2, but that has been it. I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop and all hell to break loose because I've heard that you have to "pay the piper", in a sense, to be clean but I have never felt better.

So, I guess my question is, is it possible to just put it down and walk away unscathed?

I have heard similar stories. As long as you weren't using suboxone or methadone then it sounds like maybe your habit wasn't as bad as you thought it was.

That's the thing. I was using methadone and iv'ing about a gram a day while taking the methadone. I've been so scared that maybe it's all gravy now because maybe the methadone wasn't all the way out of my system or something. I was only taking 40mg a day. I'm hoping that I got away easy this time. I've wd many, many times before which is why I was so skeptical but I guess after 4 days I can finally relax and just accept it.

Thank you for your reply

Depends on how long you have taken Methadone for

just being honest here, I've never heard of a smooth and comfortable detox off methadone. Curious as to how the OP made out

With the right comfort meds and a good taper, there is such a thing. I got to experience it for myself last summer subotai. It was a lot of work, but anyone with a brain can easily do it with the right know how, support and determination. Unfortunately those three things are often in short supply when it comes to people who are trying to get off methadone.

Getting off methadone took a hell of a lot longer than kicking something like heroin, but it was a much "gentler" (though that word really doesn't apply to either situation) affair, all things considered.
