Could mdma be used to help heroin addicts?

I am an opiate addict ,have been for just over 4 years - currently i IV oxy 160mgs per day.
I also use ecstacy fairly often, though when i do i HAVE too make sure i have an extra shot stashed, as E seem to amplify the WD many times over. Particulary sore/restless legs and anxiety. I can't think of much worse than taking E, or any other strong rave/stim drug while attempting cold turkey.

Oh and there IS another way to quit other than wanting to. My mate is now clean even though he didnt exactly want to............he was jailed for break and enters. Hopefully it signals the end to this chapter of his life.

It's quite common for people (particularly men) to stop using heroin when in jail. It's like going to fitness camp - you eat 3 meals a day and get to work out a lot. Sure - you can still get heroin in prison, but it might not be worth the hassle (politics, standovers, cost and of course no new needles). Just smoke a bit of pot and do your time.

It's also quite common to get back on the gear when you get out - all those environmental cues are just waiting to greet you. This is a very high risk time for overdose, coz no tolerance anymore...

Actually MD, one of the best things you can do for your friend is to just keep being his friend. It's very hard to stop using a particular drug if everyone you know is using it.

MDMA in a theraputic sense, like not going dancing all night- could be useful for this. Im jus speaking in the general sense because it helps therapy and if there are psychological issues for the person with a substance abuse problem (which there usually is) it can be very valuble in healing.

BAck in the day apparently mdma was useful for almost everything in therapy, with great results.

^Not if it intensifies physical WD, as when in that state the user just wants to use, and nothing else.
MDMA might be usefull AFTER successful WD as a form of thearpy to avoid using again though.
