This could be a stupid question, but I'm not yet a chem student lol...

I tried Adderall before and it didn't work much for me, even 20mg instant release for the first time ever. Whereas my friends say 10mg XR is great.

I drink a shitload of Diet Coke, which contains aspartame, containing phenylalanine and I understand that the stereoisomer D-phenylalanine is used in (meth)amphetamine synthesis.

Would this have any impact at all? I'm talkin' a lot of diet coke here.

Just got me thinking...

Thanks for any input!

Amphetamine isn't like any other high. This is really to broad of a question for you to be given a direct answer. We need to know what you've eaten that day, recent past drug use, what kind of mood you're in. I've tweaked and never even really realized I was tweaking. The "high" is basically having lots of energy, being well focused, having a raised mood. It's not like weed or other drugs were you're fully aware of the affects. If you look to hard for it then the entire high can blow right over you.

Empty stomach. Recent drug use was ~90mg methylphenidate a couple weeks prior. However, I did use MDMA on average once a week for a few months, then stopped, and it was 3 months between using M and the Adderall? And my mood was to study, lol. I didn't even really feel much energy at all.

Perhaps I did look too hard for it. Or I accumulated some sort of tolerance.

To say that amphetamines arent like any other high is a flat out lie,
I can think of plenty other drugs that resemble amphetamines in one way or another,

And you saying that you cant notice the effects is total BS the effects are more of an in your face high than anything else.

So ya its pretty much the exact opposite of what this tool is saying, they are by NO means subtle.

OH and im even ganna go as far to say that this KID is a troll

Oh shit! We need another party in here to back this up. Well played on the kid emphasis.

To answer the OP: No. The caffeine in diet coke has more of an effect than the aspartame (which has no psychological effect aside from tasting sweet).

Thread closed as it's derailed into arguing
