Cough syrup with codiene

Got it from a prescription for a bad cold.

How strong is the stuff? it says 2 tablespoons daily MAX before bed and I took 3.5 and am feeling nothing. How much codiene is in it per tablespoon? Its cheratussin AC syrup.

That stuff is disgusting! Just a tablespoon makes me want to gag. I always complain about the taste to the doctor, saying I can't down it. They usually give me Tussionex. Much nicer.

A quick Google search would have revealed the answer, it's 10mg codeine per 5mL, not very much recreational potential.

Also, codeine is not a psychedelic drug, this should be in Basic Drug Discussion
