First things first, I am not asking how to get drugs or get high or how to scam or manipulate anyone...lets make this clear. I am looking for people's personal opinions and outside viewpoint and I am hoping for some input on how this situation may look.

I've been having issues with a dry cough and sore throat for some time now...cough,cough.I visit one specialist that prescribes me promethazine and codeine and pretty much hooks it up when needed. I've been swimming in the shit for awhile, with having received multiple pints in total. When I can't see the specialist in a necessary time frame or when I don't feel like driving far and I'm out of the medicine(taken as prescribed, for the expected days supply), I see a very nice urgent care doctor but he on the other hand prescribes me Tussionex. Both of these medicines help very well for my current conditions.

One question I have is it necessarily suspicious that I supplement with urgent care?In my eyes, it seems only appropriate when in reality, urgent care is needed. When I do not feel like driving a distance being sick and can not book an appointment, its a very reliable and helpful resource for when someone is not feeling alright.

Another question, I called the specialist's office today and after having a large amount(very substantial) of the promethazine and codeine in the last year scripted without problem or question, just being handed out basically there has been mentioning of the abuse potential and the doctor seems to want to shy away from it writing less and now not anything. The office offered to call in a medrol dose pack and some other medicine (non narcotic ). I know the medrol dose pack can come in handy, but with the pain and cough keeping me up at night...I know better then anything that the only substantial relief I can find is through opiate cough syrups because I've tried. I feel now that urgent care would be appropriate, considering I still feel bad and my usual pharmacy has yet to receive any faxed medication but they may later. EDIT: The pharmacy did receive a fax for Promethazine and DXM along with a Medrol Dose Pack, I know this syrup with DXM does nothing for me.

I'm worried if I go to urgent care, I get this filled, then my other pharmacy gets a called in script of whatever from the specialist then it may look badly on my part. I just want to feel good and there seems to be inadequate relief as of now so it would seem like a good idea and take control of the situation and get some fast help. My normal pharmacy which may be expecting a call in from the other doctor, doesn't stock the Tussionex generic brand I prefer, they also don't have the name brand I prefer. I usually go to a different pharmacy a little farther out, that has my preferred brand and/or generic because the current pharmacy only stocks a very nasty Parr brand generic that is bitter and hard to get down.

How bad does this all look? Is it really bad at all or am I just paranoid and not wanting to look a bad guy(which I'm not). As far as insurance as well, would it look bad if I got the medrol dose pack and the non-narcotic med that may be called in from one doctor later on and get the narcotic cough medicine in the same time frame, maybe a few days?

You already posted this and it was closed. Do not repost closed threads.

Also you need to figure out how to solve your cough problem with out the expectation of codeine and promethazine or other opioid cough syrups. They are not meant for long term use, and as you have seen your doctor (specialist) doesn't want to continue with the scripts with the pattern of use you are having.

Why was it closed?

Please tell me? As I view it a mistake in the first place over a presumptuous misunderstanding, could be the staff is capable of human error?

Not sure how this goes against anything, asking a simple yes or no question...which I see all the time?

I also edited the post.

So people don't get confused and make assumptions beforehand, as it did happen before and can not allow for anyone else to make judgements of their own without knowing the intended context. Its not endless speculation, its a simple yes or no question, that which I'm asking for a few opinions and a chance to reevaluate and move on.

We aren't here to help you aquire drugs. You can post a disclaimer all you want, but you are still asking about acquiring drugs, specifically from multiple sources. Also these are questions we can't answer. Either go and do what you are planning on doing, or don't. We don't know how the pharmacy will react with seeing multiple scripts for cough meds. This type of thread is just BS speculation and about getting drugs. Both of which isn't allowed on BL

If you have an issue with why your thread was closed PM the mod who closed it, don't start another thread because you mad it was closed.

Please tell me where I asked for any help to acquire drugs.

Not once, did I ask anything even remotely close to this but maybe you just jumped to conclusions without reading through and maybe you just plane misread.

What specifically are the questions you can't answer? Other then the one you made up yourself, saying I asked for help to acquire drugs...when that is not the case? If you're going to have a pretentious, condescending attitude towards me its better off not even to respond in such a fashion of negativity. It a matter of opinion, thats what I'm asking...its quite simple for anyone to give me their two cents with coming to respond in a defensive matter over the subject matter.

I'm not looking for a scientific answer, educated opinions and humanistic viewpoints are all welcomed.

don't start another thread because you mad it was closed.

I'm not mad, I think a human error was made upon the staff and its a misunderstanding, on a topic that doesn't hurt to discuss and seems fitting to user guidelines.

We are not the pharmacy! We aren't the ones who will allow you or prohibit you from purchasing the prescriptions if they are later called in after you just purchased other cough meds.

And yes it generally looks a little sketchy for people to fill multiple types of cough meds with opioid painkillers in them in one day

I'm not asking if they will prohibit anything, not once was that even mentioned. Please calm down, if you really feed the need you use an exclamation point, its not that serious.

Not trying to fight on the internet.

Also, you misread once again assuming I'm asking to fill multiple opiate cough medicines in the same day, when I said specially one was non-narcotic and the other wasn't.

You need an x-ray of your lungs, that's the very 1st thing they did for me when I thought I was going to cough so hard, I'd burst a blood vessel in my head. For a week straight. Would wake me up in the middle of the night ...gasping for breathing thinking I was about to die. I couldn't cough hard enough. Into a pillow, the whole bit. Why morphine or whatever and not just an antibiotic to cure wtf is going on in yr lungs/throat?
Makes it all seem 'weird'...and I'll let the mods handle the rest.

Ask you doctor for an x-ray. My opinion.
Beyond all the drama...who said what when where, etc.

This really goes into the realm of Legal Discussion, which is something we don't try and do here at Bluelight. It does sound like you need to see your doctor about some sort of X-ray or at least another examination. Provided the medication is prescribed correctly, I doubt there will be any legal problems...but, this really is something you should ask the pharmacist, your doctor, or an attorney.

I'm going to close this thread. PM me if you have any questions.
