cotton fever advice?

Ok so last night me and my boyfriend had a couple of incidents involving cotton fever. We assumed at first it was the shitty dope he bought bc every time this moron buys from this guy something bad happens.

Anyway, this morning after dosing with our normal shit, 25 min later I start violently shaking and shivering even tho its 90 degrees in my room. I decide it is not the dope, even though it did yield an awful headache that wasn't even curable with quality dope, but the needles. I know, were well aware of the importance of fresh pins every time but sometimes u only have enough to buy the drugs and used works just don't seem as important at that particular moment.

So now he started vomiting for a good hour, and his fever has gone from 102.5 to 104.1. I just gave him 800mg of ibuprofen, but I'm not sure if i should take him to the emergency room. I read online that once it reaches 103 you should make a trip but he's reluctant. Should we just wait it out?
 
Take him to the hospital if you value his life if he doesn't want to them let him risk it. Have you tried sniffing or snorting this dope yet see if it does the same thing?
 
No we did the last of it last night but he started shaking and shivering and threw up several times. I've taken some that has spilled and dipped my finger in it and rubbed it inside my nose on my membranes. But that was at the same time as the shot. Were about to cop again and I'm making him buy new works. If his fever continues to rise he understands he has to go. So far he's ok nothing scary just the high fever. He's drinking lots of water and I'm cooling him down with a lukewarm washcloth. Maybe a shower?
 
Update*

Fevers gone way down its at a nice healthy 98.6 after a shot of quality stuff with a nice new pin and a fresh cotton. Only thing is now his whole body is red? After the shot it started out as red splotches on his back and legs and it spread and now he looks like he has a sunburn on every inch of him? He's not really hot to the touch and like I said he has no fever. Idk why he's red though?
 
I think in these situations the best advice is to eliminate all risky or compromising factors (like shooting dope) in order to avoid complicating the condition, or avoid misdiagnosis. It's important to be alert and sober during these times.
 
I have read that many cases of cotton fever, even when they resolve on their own, are actually endocarditis. This is some scary shit, because that causes "vegetations" to form in your heart that can be dangerous, leading to strokes or valve disease.....The red skin can be some even worse stuff I am not gonna get into. I hope by today he is fine.
Once you are at a better place I would get an echocardiogram if you can.
I have gotten cotton fever despite doing everything perfect.
