Corruption of youth

I don't know how this suddenly became the Daniel Johns thread, but anywho....

...There are really only a very few Silverchair songs I like. I honestly don't get the fuss over Diorama. But I think he's got an awesome amount of talent and perseverance, it's just not my cup of tea...

And as much as I might love putting shit on him in the name of shits and giggles (cause let's face it, we aussies love tearing down our tall poppies), I also have a lot of respect for what he's had to go through as a person. Sure, he's loved by thousands or millions or whatever, sure he's going out with Natalie Imbruglia, but what with all the shit he's had to go through in his life up until this point he's hardly sitting in the lap of luxury.

So much props to a kid from Newcastle who's gone out there and made it for himself on the world stage due to hard work and talent.

I still wouldn't fuck him though. ;)

Prince would program the fills on his drum machine while he recorded...now THAT is fresh!

Afrika Bambataa, New Order, The Cure, whatever the genre, the 80's ROCKED!!!!!!!!!

oh and BTW, silverchair suck ass, have always sucked ass, and always will suck ass.

Probably the same place as Daniel Johns went.

Found a hot chick, got some drugs and went to experience the good life.

But no, i have no idea where energizer went. maybe he left and came back as someone else ...

my dad would make me sit through led zepplin, no complaints about that!

on my the other hand my mums classical music used to scare me :\

Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, Led Zep, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, various mix tapes from the fuckin 60s, these are what i was subjected to as a kid on car trips.

AND I LOVED IT. I still love all those bands and singers. I was born in the mid 70s and luckily the old's werent into the hits of the day. But we were also subjected to the likes of Gove Scrivenor (not too bad in retrospect) and my uncles folk band which I wont mention for fear of incrimination, but let me say I HATE THE VIOLIN AND CANADIAN ACCENTS IN FOLK BANDS yee haw!! Bands like that had me sunk low in the back seat, tho I do have a soft spot for certain offcentre folk type bands now I must admit.

Dear ol' dad also tried to inflict classical music on us, but the only ones I appreciated as a kid were Ravel's Bolero, Beethoven's 5th, and the ride of the valkyries.

I played the ramones to my nephew recently when he was about 1, and he started headbanging, apparantly he's never been tought this manouvre. I'm a proud aunt of a young bogan!!

It's fun corrupting the young. I was corrupted by rockin tales from drug takin lowlifes, and i'm subtley continuing the cycle with my 2 nephews. Hell, I turned out ok.

i was subjected to Dire Straits and Elvis Presley on car trips :(

music doesn't influence too much unless the kids are easily swayed. i was listening to 2pac and snoop dogg when i was 12 years old, and i turned out to be a respectable member of society (sort of).

^^^ 1200 mics have the sickest psy re mix of money for nothing =D

a few weeks ago the neigbours were listening to some 80's pop garbage and we actually didn't have any music on. He came into my room and said "mum...there playing really weird music next door" :\ with a totally confused look on his face =D

One day he came home from school and i was playing my newest skazi cd. He starts stomping around the room and says "This is some phat psy mum" =D

My kid rocks so much =D
