I heard that u have somethin similar 2 an acid trip from cough and cold coricedin pills. Is this true? How many does it take to OD on them? Thanks guys...

Jesus Christ.
No, don't take coricidin, you could easily die. Not that that's a bad thing, but it might not be the type of experience you're looking for. I suppose you could have a ketamine-like "near-death" experience right before you croak, but you'd probably be in too much pain to really enjoy it.
Check out a nice exprience on erowid: http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php3?ID=5903
The psychoactive ingredient in coricidin is DXM. This is really nothing like acid at all, and is very dangerous, especially at higher doses. It is a dissociative, and a very crude one at that. If you must trip on DXM, follow the other poster's advice when he says go with Robitussin Max Strength...

Coricidin isn't very dangerous in high doses because of the DXM. It is because of all the chlorpheneramine maleate (antihistamine), which can kill you in high doses. That is why you use robitussin max with dxm only.

Yes, I'm aware of that, Abra, I was just informing "disassembled" that if he wants to trip on coricidin, that DXM is active ingredient, and there is a safer DXM containing alternative product. But DXM is dangerous in high doses, even by itself, and has been proven to cause brain damage at high/and or repeated doses. It is also mildly addicting. Be careful.

Well, first you should check out the DXM FAQ if it's still up: www.frognet.net/dxm - it's long, but it's very good information to have.
And another thing, you'll probably feel better buying the store brand cough syrup - it's easier to chug, and cheaper. You won't feel that you threw your money away if you don't like the experience. As long as the bottle has "dextromethorphan Hbr" (write that down if you think you won't remember) as the ONLY ACTIVE INGREDIENT, you're all good.

Coricidin is one of the dumbest things to use to Robo-Trip. Strait from Erowid:
"This is one of the more problamatic products as some people have very strong reactions to chlorpheniramine maleate. There have been several reports of significant negative reactions (includeing fatalities) to this product when taken in high doses."
I have had many friends do this, even one of them taking 21 at once. He was shaking and having convulsions. I also know someone who took 4 and puked all over. Try using something with ONLY DXM.

yeah, it's the chlorpheniramine maleate that causes problems. it's an antihistamine, and in general antihistamines seem not to mix well with DXM. brompheniramine maleate is also a possibility, and other antihistamines may be present in other preparations (e.g. dimenhydrinate).
dextromethorphan HBr should be the only active ingredient. the product will be described as "dextromethorphan hydrobromide syrup USP".
the inert ingredients matter too. many syrups are "alcohol free" or "sucrose free". this sounds good, but for some reason, ones that are sucrose free make, er, some people very sick. its probably the thickeners rather than the sweeteners, but they're definitely not good in large amounts.
