Hey does anyone know if local cops ever get on this site and ask for dope? I was recently asked for some tar by some dude from my town.
I have been to prison 3 times for what dude asked me so there is no way I would ever do it but I was just curious, are there cops on this site?
I have one more question, sorry, I would like to tell of my recent experience in a 30 day treatment program I just got out of, where should I post this ? thanks.

Good answers guys :) Barry, if someone is trying to buy or sell drugs from/to you, please report it to someone on staff. We take sourcing very seriously because it puts both you and our entire site at risk.

Posts about your experiences with drug abuse and treatment should go right into your diary. or journal i think we call it.

If it is open to commentary, suggestions, and support; TDS is fine with threads on the subject by my understanding. Blogs are for anything that is important to you, but almost anything recovery related to drug as a problem or working on improving one's life can work in TDS provided it fits the guidelines.

Ocean brightens both blogs and TDS so I think I'm going to try to summon her to this thread. Ocean, Ocean, Ocean :)

I know for a fact Toronto Police watch the site, as do other Canadian agencies, from municipal agencies right upto the RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency.

I know cause I have access to CPIC and the other police databases myself..I'd screenshot it but then I'd give my self away. (my name and # would be on the screen shot)

***Ta-da!*** Way to go Enki, your magical powers are powerful ;)

We welcome posts about recovery in both TDS and Blogs.

The Dark Side
is always glad to see a success thread.........
We've had a couple people detail their recovery/rehab stories in BLOGS.
Have a peek at both and see where you feel more comfortable.
Welcome to BL btw :)

Dude fuck cops....dont add any personal info if your on parole/probation......fuck em.

An advantage of blogs for some situations is that blogs are not indexed by google, but don't assume law enforcement couldn't have any Bluelight accounts and could not read your blog.

yeah but to prove its you dont they have to ask russia for site records or somthing
People have gotten themselves into quandaries by revealing personally identifiable info. Some stories are unique enough that a reader familiar with an individual can discern it is them. Like mentioning a city, a neighborhood, an employer, and a law enforcement incident that had some bizarre circumstances all within the same thread, just as an example.

Things that are not admissible in court can still be very useful to an investigator or a parole officer. It has been mentioned in legal discussion that defense attorneys have seen tons of web posts presented in discovery.[not necessarily BL posts] If your computer is seized a court might allow you to be tied to an internet account without server records. I don't know the legal realities but the main thing is any public posts, on any site imo, should try to obscure personal identifying info and at the same time try to avoid content that can be used against you.

I think I've seen more incidents of deep regret about girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, and parents discerning a Bluelighters identity than I have law enforcement regret by far. Many, many times a year people want all their posts gone and they want them gone now. The google cache and other archives not under anyone's control here means there is no rapid retraction of almost anything put out on a public website. So I'm just saying on sensitive subjects be careful. There is no real and easy taking things back on the web.

^is it possible for you to actually delete every post made by a user?
Like, other than the extremely dificult, and tedious way that involves a lot of searching...

It is tedious. You click your name, where it says Welcome Xmember, You last visited: Today at xx:xx, then from the page you arrive at next you choose the statistics tab. You choose 'Find all posts by Xmember and go to work deleting one by one and having to return to your profile periodically and find more posts and go on deleting. The posts in closed threads are not deletable by members and Bluelight does not regard it as the responsibility of staff to delete those posts but often Bluelight staff will help someone get rid of those posts in time if PMed in a reasonable way about it. This one of many examples of how it is advantageous not to get in pissing matches with people with skills, tools, and/or authority unless you have a really good reason. Anyways, NationOfThizzlam it is a lengthy process when one has an extensive posting history which is part of why it is emphasized over and over for members to exercise reasonable discretion in what they post. Its all covered in the Greenlighter's Guide in the section entitled leaving Bluelight.

so the simple answer is that if you wanna cover your tracks, be prepared to do a lot of searching.
i figured thatd be the case which is why ive been pretty reserved about posting lately..
thats good to know tho thanks Enki.

Have we forgotten something?

I was recently asked for some tar by some dude from my town.

If this happened through Bluelight, please forward the PM or email to a staff member. Dealing on the site is not acceptable and it's not just a rule to make us look good to the law, we expect all BL'ers who actually care about the site and its future to respect this rule so please report any violations of it to staff.

^With that, I'm going to close this. Its been answered and discussed to death. Yes, there is law enforcement on this board, which is why one of our rules is "dont incriminate yourself".
