cooking

Most of the time when I cook I like to pretend I'm on a cooking show and I talk to my imaginary audience. My cat just looks at me funny when I do it. Does anyone else do this?

Right now I'm stir frying squash, zucchini, green peppers, garlic, and tomatoes. All garden fresh. YUM!

 

Yes. Always have-- ever since I started cooking at 8. I used to love 'The Urban Peasant', so I modelled my style around him. These days I keep the commentary internal, but still do it.

Today I made Mediterranean-herbed roasted zucchini and eggplant, wilted bok choi, baked marinated tofu and a savoury smoked tempeh and portobello stew. Served alongside some leftover tinfoil potatoes and homemade sauerkraut. So full.

I'll post a pic if I remember.

Spork- My kitties love to be in the kitchen with me- Yesterday I made more jam and they both watched me intently. Instead of 'two fat ladies' (have you ever seen that show?) my show would be called 'lady and two fat cats'
What would the name of your cooking show be spork?

I used to do commercials in the mirror when I was younger......it was fun

ocean, after much thought I'd name my show "Weird Girl Cooking" I think it fits me well My mom cut a square hole in a big box and I'd put it on my head and pretend it was a TV. I'd read magazines from cover to cover pretending that I had my own show and the ads were commercials. I had the box until I was about 13

I'll have to see if my mom has any pics of me in my TV box.

I also second the sauerkraut recipe. I had awesome kraut in Germany and have strong cravings for it sometimes, it's completely different than the stuff in the can.

 

You know- I believe Dave is on his way there right now Im jealous. We're supposed to go in January- but we'll see. I've never been overseas but OMG I am so excited.. AND one of the best parts- REAL GERMAN FOOD
