Is it possible to cook benzocaine powder with baking soda to create a free base form just as one would do with coke?

Benzocaine is usually sold as the free base - but yes, it's possible to turn it to a salt, and it's possible to freebase it if you have the HCl salt.

There is no benefit to doing so though.

Well, this isn't the first I've heard of doing this. Way back in the day I knew someone that would add the benzocaine to crushed generic white methylphenidate tabs and sold it as coke. I also knew someone that had a bad coke habit that would add it to their ground up pseudo. She really just wanted to feel a numbing drip.....atleast that's what I think she wanted. I'm only speculating about her motives. I don't recommend pulling the trickery I mentioned as the first guy eventually got his face broken with a jack handle for passing that stuff off as blow. Personally I love Ritalin but there is quite a difference and a veteran of the white stuff will know it's not right. Not that you were thinking of doing this.
