Contaminated Ecstasy Kills Three in UK

Police in Greater Manchester have warned that the deaths of three young men in the last week may be related to contaminated ecstasy tablets circulating in the area and on Merseyside.

Officers have offered complete confidentiality to drug users in their attempts to track down the source of the heart-shaped tablets coloured purple, green, yellow and blue which are thought to have put a dozen other users in hospital.

The first death to be linked to them was in Tuebrook, Liverpool, where emergency services were called at 3.30am on Sunday to a guest house where a man had collapsed. Paramedics treated the 26-year-old at the scene and he was taken to hospital but died soon after arrival. He has not yet been named but had complained of feeling unwell after taking ecstasy.

Doctors were also unable to save two men from Wigan who went to hospital for treatment after taking ecstasy tablets. Gareth Ashton, 28, died at Wigan Infirmary on Monday, shortly after 19-year-old Jordan Chambers died at Oldham hospital.

Greater Manchester police said both were "apparently fit young men" and had suffered the same symptoms. Detailed toxicology tests are being done on all three victims before postmortem results are released. Recovering victims of what is thought to be the same syndrome are also being tested for chemical poisoning.

Det Chief Insp Howard Millington of Wigan CID said: "We are very concerned at how these deaths have occurred. Our main concern is that there may be a contaminated quantity of illegal drugs and if this goes unchecked it could result in further deaths.

"The drugs are believed to be ecstasy tablets, heart shaped in purple, green, yellow and blue. If you are suffering adverse effects after taking one of these tablets I would advise you to go to hospital for a checkup. If you have any information, I would ask you to contact police as soon as possible. We will treat the details you supply with the strictest of confidence.

"I would always urge people not to take illegal drugs and remind them that you do not know what they have been made up with. They can contain poisons and illicit chemicals that can have potentially fatal effects."

Tributes on Twitter to Jordan Chambers included the message: "God has gained an angel way too soon. Goodnight, God bless sweetheart." Another said: "Such a nice lad. You'll be truly missed." Ashton, also known as Gaz, was described by friends as "an absolute gem of a lad who always made everyone laugh".

No - its great that you posted in here. My post was just to show you that it had been plastered around the relevant places (for the UK) - I don't know why it hadn't been posted in here though? Just really enforces the need for test kits!

But... I brought it from a guy I really trust and all my friends were rolling balls and the pill looked and smelt like real MDMA.

... on a more serious note, test kits...Test Kits...TEST KITS! :) (Not directed at you Wills! Directed at EVERYONE! :))
 
So after tests these 100% PMA as the main ingredient, according to the papers/police. Another presser with no regard for life at all, police say they will be not arresting people who give up there source, maybe the presser might start seeing some sense.

These pills are so cheap, its the kind of pills people will take a lot of, and containing PMA they couldnt be more lethal. There where lots of admissions to hospitals and they have already 3 confirmed deaths being new in the UK it cant end well.

The other problem is these are going fairly cheaply encouraging people to buy a few - given the way that a lot of people use pills in the UK and that the effects of PMA can take over an hour to start then people may redose/ take more. By the time the effects have started they could have already ingested a lethal amount of PMA.

This may sound horrible but, It's probably better that this has happened mid week - imagine if these hit the streets on a Friday night/ Weekend. I just hope that the warnings get plastered around everywhere. I know that I put it straight on Facebook and was repeated by a few mates, hopefully if enough people do the same thing we can get this warning spread around quickly before more deaths happen.
 
Stupid pricks... the sentence for wankers pressing anything with PMA or manufracture should be to eat a bit of their own medicine, pun intended.
 
Yea this really ticks me off, how greedy do you have to be to use PMA. At least just make some meth / filler pills, but PMA fuck! That is literally like torture, they should shove 5 of them in his mouth and let a crowd gather and watch this cock sucker.

We really should use reagent testing kits, it's unfortunate that in UK our government are too careless to provide us with a test facility,
Considering it would save lives, as i don't think mdma when used in right setting and quantity is that dangerous at all and is a breathtaking experience

Just a passing thought, feel free to bash if really stupid : is it possible that some basement dwelling highschool chemists think that they are actually making mdma from anethole ? The process is fairly similar as to the actual one ? (Idk) could it be plain old stupid ignorance ?
Like I said, just a thought.
