Contaminants IN meth?

So every now and then I get this weird meth. when I chuck it into a clean pipe and melt it down, these mysterious 'hairs' (like thin tobacco strands) appear, turn brown and color the melted crystal a slightly burnt color. It seems like this stuff comes from within the crystal itself. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

Betelgeusee, what was your high like afterwards or did you even smoke any of it? A few months ago my friend and I had gotten some stuff from an unfamiliar dealer and once it was in the pipe and lit there seemed to be almost like cotton fibers or spiderwebs started to form and burnt nasty shit on the bowl. It was incredibly hard to get out of the pipe afterwards too and omg the experience afterwards was horrible to say the least. Both of us started hallucinating hard like, I would see wriggling or crawling bugs on any dark colored surface for one. At one point I even saw a line of ants crawling across my living room floor and doused it in bug spray. It was horrendous and have searched for an answer to no avail.
