I had drank two cans of beers 24 hours ago, and I am wondering is it safe for me to take 0.5mg of Xanax XR in the morning and one before going to bed?

Thx

Besides, in those amounts it wouldn't even be a problem to combine them.
You could easily consume 1 mg of Alprazolam and 2 beers in one session, without any serious side effects.
If you don't have a tolerance when it might knock you the fuck out, sure, but you wouldn't stop breating or something serious like that.
Not saying you should combine them though, it's a very tricky game and you would probaby be better off just taking some more benzos as alcohol really adds to the side effects in my experience, even at low doses.

Yes, mixing Alcohol with Benzos isn't a sudden death like most users usually make it sound like, i tend to drink 1-2 beers or mix whiskey with grapefruit juice to boost my benzos occasionally so i can stay at a smaller doze as opposed to upping them every time and getting tolerant to them.

People who die from alcohol and benzos are the reckless ones that do it every day and are non caring/knowing about the consequence, you will be fine unless you're going 10mg+ Xanax a day while being drunk whenever you can.

Yeah, a lot of people indeed seem to think that it is worse to combine these than what it actually is. Harmreduction first and foremost of course, but I think it's important that it doesn't sound like it's worse than it actually is, ´cause that way, some might find out that it isn't by experience and start to think that it ain't anything to worry about at all.
But it is! Just not as much as it sometimes sound like when looking through forums.

I don't agree with you on your last comment though.
It's very much possible to die from this combination, in just one session.
You don't have to be an everyday user, actually, the ones with the lowest tolerance are also the ones most prone to ODing on this combination so Im gonna have to disagree very strongly with you on that one :)

Another thing, it sounds like the primary reason you mix alcohol with your xanax is to keep tolerance to xanax down?
This only works partially.
The ethanol it self is a GABA agonist too, so by adding it to your xanax, you will be stimulating the GABA receptors further. This of course, causes downregulation equal to the level of stimulation that they recieve.
Ethanol also works in ways that xanax don't though, but don't think you can get around tolerance and physical addiction just by mixing different GABA agonist in order to reach the same stage of intoxication, it doesn't work like that.
If it did, then everyone would be doing it ;)

...i tend to ... mix whiskey with grapefruit juice ...

Now that is what I call blasphemous act!

You should be sentenced to jail for mixing whiskey with grapefruit juice!

Whiskey is intended to be drunk as it is without ice or any mixers.

Aside from Benzos I'm more in favor of the beautiful green leaf than i am alcohol!
But you surely get the idea of why i would mix whiskey (Jim Beam my fav) with Grapefruit juice ? Potentiation101

And that's also my reply to the other poster, i know alcohol irritates GABA but not the exact receptors so you're partially wrong, i try to keep all my ""drugs"" moderate with various methods.

Yeah well, that's why I said "this only works partially....You see what I did there?

I usually only pop a benzo with a drink of alcohol. The recommended dose of any benzo combined with 1-2 drinks MAX of alcohol is COMPLETELY SAFE. Whenever someone increases the dose or adds more to the mix of a downer it can get risky.

So you're more than fine.
