Console Console Gamers - Whatcha playin?

I've been playing a bit of beat saber on the quest 2 and am chipping away at final fantasy 14 on PS5, currently finishing up the heavenward expansion. On switch I've been working on a final fantasy 7 challenge run (cloud solo initial equipment) but I haven't looked at that for a few weeks.

Games are so big and take so long these days that playing anything new feels like such an overwhelming commitment. The last new game I played was final fantasy 7 rebirth and that took 3 months to get through.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is pretty awesome

:Mario party:
:Mario:
I've only sunk about an hour in, but it is charming. The original Super Mario Bros (bundled with duck hunt) was the first console game I ever played.

I need to renew my nso subscription so I can play my old games
I usually play through super mario world a couple times a year or so , so I'm behind
Not played dkc2 in a while either
Those are two of my all time favorites for sure

I've just had a physical copy of this drop in my lap over two weeks before I was expecting it to be restocked and will be playing the shit out of it for the foreseeable future.

I heard people talking about this but I doubt I'll ever play it.

So much french cursing I love it.

The art direction in this game is absolutely stunning as is the music. Even if you don't play the game check out the ost because my goodness.

Edit:

just finished it recently, best story game since bg3 imo

Didn’t expect there to be so much content

Just got done playing stray. it was amazing. Most people reviewing it on reddit gaming subs etc. are ranking it in their top 5 games of all times. It's a very simple game, but it's so unique the way the gameplay is. I've never played another game with this type of gameplay was the consensus. The story is great and the ending pulls at the heartstrings. Such a unique game.

back to Zelda TOTK. It's the only game I play. I used to play warframe a bunch but haven't in a while.

Superliminal is very simple and trippy I remember people raving about it when it first came out, didn’t play it until a couple of years ago, don’t remember how it ends tho. Pretty good tho

Been hopping in and out of Fortnite lately — fun as always, but sometimes I just don’t have the time (or reflexes lol) to grind through all the tiers and quests. I tried fortnite boost services https://askboosters.com/fortnite/ recently to help with Battle Pass progress and a few ranked goals. Surprisingly smooth experience, and honestly a time-saver when life’s busy.

Anyone else still playing Fortnite on console? Or are most of y’all deep into something else lately?

Still chipping away at Clair Obscur on PS5 a few hours a week with a little bit of Final Fantasy 9 on vita in-between. Clair Obscur really is a lot of fun, really engaging combat which pushes you to keep trying again to memorize boss patterns. One took me 10 tries and I was this close to dropping the difficulty so I could move on but the payoff when I finally nailed it was immense.

I've just seen that the next two chapters of Deltarune have been released. I adored Undertale and really enjoyed the first two chapters of Deltarune too but I don't have the $$$ for a new game so it'll have to wait a while. Might be a good excuse to replay Undertale and the first two chapters of DR too, especially the latter as I only played them once as each released.

Is that the one they announced for switch 2 ?

I believe so yes, but it's available on just about everything else too.

Play Undertale if you haven't it's so much better than it looks. Very clever game and genuinely touching and life affirming story.

Yea I heard it was good. I have games on my switch from like 5 years ago I still haven't started. Every time I turn it on I just end up playing animal crossing or Mario kart
