Hello, just wandering if anyone knows anything about this.

Basically alot of chinese suppliers are selling pure dxm in powder and salt like form. But the problem is, alot of people are saying (including suppliers) that the pure dxm has in fact a SWEET taste.

This contradicts the reports of it being unbearable to consume.

Does anyone know if the products being sold by these "chinese suppliers" are in fact DXM?

Can DXM even have a sweet taste? (masking agents)

Is pure dxm a salt like product, or a powder?

I knew a guy who bought a sample and recieved what looked like sugar, tasted like it and product subtle, subtle effects no really comparable to dxm (600mg). It was kind of like that "theres something happening feeling" that just died of slowly. His dose was stepped up and up (800mg) and still no effects.

This is were my speculation lies, as the sample was obtained from a reliable supplier who had good feedback. Is it possible there shipping dud product? or scamming people somehow?

Sounds like a scam.

All of the pure powder I've had is quite bitter.

Imbibed 100mg will tell you without a doubt whether it truly is dxm.

My advice is to start way lower than that. Just in case.

Its alot of suppliers though, more than 5 who say its sweet.

Almost the same and you don't have to guess what's in it, either.

Robotussin cough gels were identical to powder.

Powder's way more abusable in my opinion, and I prefer the slow comeup of cough gels personally.

Yea, unless you reallly want the powder.
I would just go pick up some robo cough gels from the store..
alot easier ,and you knw it's really DXM

Not available in Australia

Just as long as you know which OTC products do not contain other ingredients that can be toxic at high doses which you would need to achieve the DXM high, there is no reason to be buying it online.

The gels with the pure DXM are the best way to go.

OP discussion on people getting ripped off and anything to do with internet sources doesn't belong here.

If you are asking just "what does pure dextromethorphan taste like?" then you need to define your terms better.

Dextromethorphan free base is a white to off yellow powder, soluble in chloroform and insoluble in water. It can of course be converted into a variety of different "pure" salts (i.e. adding an acid) each of which will have different properties including taste and bitterness.

edit:
Is pure dxm a salt like product, or a powder?
This question just doesn't make any sense. All salts are crystals and depending on how the crystallization process is performed (rate often an important factor) they can be large or very small - like a powder.

There absolutely is. For one, it's much MUCH cheaper.

Amapola summed it up - there's no way for us to tell you what it shoudld taste like because we don't know the form you received and overall, this isn't appropriate here so I'm going to close it.

PM me if you have any questions. :)
