It's kind of an apples and oranges comparison. The main thing that they have in common is that they are both psychedelics. At any rate, LSD is more stimulating, whereas mushrooms are even sedating for some people. For me mushrooms are intoxicating in a similar way to alcohol, but the body high is way different. LSD does seem to have more crisp, sharp edge visuals for me (technological is a good way to describe them...for me mechanical comes to mind). Mushroom visuals tend to be more rounded/organic. LSD is generally more clear-headed depending on dosage than mushrooms. I have gotten more thought/time loops on mushrooms than LSD, but both have potential for heavy mental effects. Definitely the significantly shorter duration of mushrooms can be a major plus when you don't have time to devote a whole day or two to the experience (LSD burnout can make the next day a bit challenging at times). For me mushrooms have more of an afterglow than burnout, though perhaps with a bit of grogginess if it interferes with sleep cycle. As for comparing dosage of shrooms vs acid, apples and oranges. As with any new substance regardless of experience, start small and work your way up. I generally don't suggest anyone take more than a gram of cubensis or liberty caps for their first time. Potency varies wildly, as does individual sensitivity. At 1 gram most get to experience the body high without much mindfuck or visual activity, and yes it is generally very euphoric under the right circumstances. I've met a few people who a especially sensitive and will get a borderline ++/+++ from 1 gram.
