Ok, i am looking to start experimenting with lsd, and im just trying to figure out the difference between all of the weird chemical name shit on here. someone please help so i know what is being talked about so i can read the right experiences.

I warn you now though, reading PIHKAL and TIHKAL might make you feel like your drowning in a lake of alphabet soup! Fascinating things to read though, but can be tricky getting your head around the chemistry if you have no experience. For example, there are a bewildering number of 2C Phenethylamines in PIHKAL, but it is fascinating elucidating their different psychoactive effects.

Good site to start with is this (PIHKAL):

And this (TIHKAL):

You can scroll down to the chemicals of interest on either page. Fascinating reads - once you get into them, you will no doubt want to learn more.

That's why I always recommend ordering a print copy of PIHKAL that contains the first part of the book, which is omitted on the erowid version. Its written for non-chemists and gives a good review of the subject.

I would love to get paper copies of both PIHKAL and TIHKAL (indeed plan to in the near future). I flicked through the first half of PIHKAL and found it pretty interesting. Might try to see if I can get a copy for christmas... I feel one misses out on quite a lot of stuff reading only the online versions, and I personally love reading the scientific discussions toward the bottom of each entry - theres some fascinating stuff in there.

The first part of PIHKAL is a classic for sure.. Its worth buying if only to giggle at Ann's graphic descriptions of what they term "the erotic". :D

I am really fond of TIHKAL, especially Shulgins somewhat random discussion of the big bang. My copy is falling apart sadly enough, but such a fantastic book, along with PIHKAL, truly world changing.

i've only read PIHKAL but i <3
