Concerta - The New Adderall?

I live in a very wealthy town in Connecticut, where parents rush their kids into ADHD medication after the first sign of academic struggle. Basically, when you're a speed freak like myself, you learn quickly that about 1 in 5 kids going to my high school takes some form of medication for either ADD or ADHD. Combine that fact with highly paid, cutting-edge doctors, and well....you get cutting-edge controlled substances in the hands of kids eager to get rid of them. That's where I come in. In the past year, it seemed that the main scripts going around were for Adderall, Ritalin, and Dexedrine, listed from most to least popular. Lately, however, I have noticed that many kids are getting switched to Concerta, a new drug similar to Ritalin. I checked out the website, www.concerta.com, to learn that Concerta is chemically similar to Ritalin but the time release mechanism acts much more efficiently. Needless to say, the next day in school I had scored about 20 36mg pills. The only problem is that pill itself is made of a chew proof casing, so I chomped for about 10 minutes to no avail. After swallowing 2, I noticed very slight trademark stimulant effects (i.e. sweating, mild euphoria, willingness to pay attention), yet nothing as powerful as something like Adderall. I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this drug yet, and what they think. I'm hoping to find a way of getting around that damn time release casing (hopefully an extraction will be posted somewhere). Any input feel free to add. Thanks.
 
Oh god. please don't take that stuff! Last week I took 6 18mg pills of concerta. I took that many cause i usually take 90-120-mg's of adderall at once and feel great and didn't feel anything after taking 3 Concerta. I chewed them up and everything. Well anyway, it was the worst experience. My hearty was beating uncontrolably, I felt nauseous, and finally ended up in the bathroom puking my brains out, My body started shaking, basiclly I thought that i wasn't going to survive. I thought I'd go into cardiac arrest! My friend is a paramedic and assured me that I'd be okay, but shit, I was freaking out like no other. Concerta is not a fun drug, so please learn from my experience and don't take it!!!!!!!! I too did research on this drug and since it resembles ritalin, I thought it would be okay to take, um no. Be careful!

90-120mg! Is that the recreational dose? I always thought 40mg would be good for a good time. Anyway, does anyone get a headache from the comedown from adderal?
 
90-120mg of adderall is a shitload to take. so you at about 100mg of concerta, which if it's like ritalin is a shitload of ritalin to eat at once too. i would have lost my shit on that much. I've seen a friend litteraly go in to what seemed very similar to a "bad trip" after about 80 mg of ritalin.

Concerta is ritalin, it is just timed-released. you don't have to take that many to catch a cool buzz.
You can't snort it or chew it, just swallow it.
 
you can crush it to make it release faster, but not as fast as normal ritalin. I was on 108mg per day for ADD, and didnt get a buzz at all from it, even when crushed. I did get a stomach ache and headache though. Oh, and 90-120mg of adderall for some people is a good rec dose. I am now on 45mg adderall/day prescribed so it takes a bunch to get me going.
 
Actually PARADIGM, you CAN snort or chew it, it just takes a long time to remove the coatings and crush it up - not really my thing but a lot of people I know like it better than other forms.
 
You can make it release just as fast as ritalin. Take a razor blade and peel off that maroon coating. You will then have a pill that's green,white and pink. Cut off the green part. With the razor blade, cut through the middle of the white and pink pill. You can then peel of the plastic coating on the white and pink sections. Once you have completely removed the plastic coating, crush the white and pink mixture up into a powder and snort it.
 
I also live in Connecticut..and I have to say only rich little private school wannabe druggies bother with shit like Ritalin etc etc. Why dont you just go score some crystal if you want something speedy......
 
concerta sucks ass thats all there is to it. its a step above ephedrine and two steps above a double espresso.
 
I agree that concerta is terrible stuff...it's even worse than ritalin, which barely stimulates me at all, and always gives me a headache...and furthermore produces ZERO euphoria.
Now the dexedrine spansules, THOSE are alright...you can either pop enough to make it worth your while (and be prepared to be up for ages) or crush the little granules and filter or just eat the crushed mess. If you filter though you can snort it...Also, the stuff tastes sooo sweet and yummy. :)
 
I agree concerta (and all ADD meds) except dexadrine suck, but it is possible to get "high" off snorting concerta. Stick w/Meth!!
 
I was falling asleep all this morning in class so someone gave me some. I've had no interest in recreational ritalin and weak shit like that but I figured maybe it'd help me stay up to do all these projects I needed. I guess it helped, as I did all my work that is due soon, but I endured horrible dysphoria, stomach and chest pains until about 30 minutes ago. So it lasted 12 hours. Also I took 4 36mg pills. Maybe a bit overboard. Definitely no euphoria but then again, I never expected it as I didn't take them to get "high". Some Nodoze would have done better probably ;) Methylphenidate in any form has no recreational value, in my opinion.
