Concerta interference?

Just after a little advice.Would taking concerta have a effect on the potencey of opiates or benzodiazepines being a stimulant.Or is it a case of maybe having a effect until the concerta is working properly in the system? Thanks in advance also does concerta take a couple of weeks to get a steady level in the bloodstream to be working corectly Thanks

Concerta does not take a couple of weeks to work correctly, it isn't an SSRI or another antidepressant...in fact, most antidepressants don't take weeks to work correctly either.

Concerta is an extended release form of methylphenidate, which is an amphetamine-like stimulant.

It would reduce the effectiveness of benzos as far as their ability to reduce anxiety or tension...but they actually work quite well together.

Methylphenidate and opiates, on the other hand, are a nice combination, they potentiate the effects of each other.

What i meant by 2 weeks to work was really for my body to adjust to insomnia tension ect im sorry i should have explained it a little better opps sorry thanks again!!

It could take some time (weeks) for your body to adjust to the side effects, etc, yes.

Neighbourhood threat my friend your saying concerta and my poison dihydrocodeine would potenate each other? If thats the case nice 1 usefull to know!!

They will and they won't. The dihydrocodeine won't increase the stimulant effects of the Concerta (methylphenidate) for example, but they will probably result in a higher level of euphoria.

Tread with caution, however. If you plan on mixing the two, take a lower dose than you usually would of each drug and work your way up from there.
