Okay, so lemme get it out here like this. My grandmother took 44 valium(5mg) and 55 percocet(10mg) over the course of 5 days. What kind of stuff is normal to happen, and what kind of stuff should I be worried about? I'm learning all this from my grandfather as I was out of town. If I could get some guidance on what to do and what to expect I would be greatly appreciative. She weighs 120ish because I know that matters, she's also 52. He tolerance to opiates should be pretty high because of her ailments. ( She's been on them for about 10 years ) But I would Really like it if someone could help me out here and figure out what to expect, and what I can do to help her through this. Thanks a million

Well we don?t really know her motivation, maybe she was in great pain for those days, maybe she just likes how it feels when she takes the meds. Opiates and benzos combined can cause a severely depressed central nervous system which can be fatal. If your grandmother has a big tolerance to these meds then she probably isn?t in much danger.

If you think this is a situation that needs to be remedied then you should talk with your family about it.

Given the fact that this occured several days ago, your Grandmother could be assumed to have metabolized the drugs. If she is alive, then she's fine. There will not be any lasting damage from taking Benzodiazepines and Opioids for a few days.

OP, can you be more specific as to what you and your granddad are concerned about? Is she acting differently than usual? How much more medicine did she take than what is prescribed? If your grandmother's medications are not helping her pain, it would be a good idea to have her talk with her physician.
