Concern For My S/O Smoking Oxy

I have a few questions and in desperate need of some advice.

my boyfriendhas been an oxycodone addict for about 3 years now. I love the guy to death but I feel like I'm watching him slowly die each day I spend with him. routinely well wake up and he'll instantly already be in withdrawal states from not smoking during the time of him sleeping, he's eyes will water, his nose will stream with water, he'll instantly start sweating, and have the most chronic cough I've ever heard (he smokes the 25 & 30 mg blues on foil) which he can't even control. I can hear that he has pneumonia or bronchitis from the water sounds in his cough. anyways he'll wake up like this, and then his day starts to revolve around pills. he loves smoking these pills to much to ever quit. idk what I should do. and do you know if this means he will die soon??

also when he's gone just a day with out it he'll be throwing up all day long, with sweats and diarreah. sad to say but he'll smoke anywhere around 2-20 pills a day. sometimes he'll make enough deals with his friends he'll be able to obtain that much, and some days he can't get anything. please help!!! I just need some direction or answers

Opiate addiction is one of the worst out there, definitely was the worst for me. My advice to you would be to see if he'd be interested in kicking the habit by taking suboxone.

I used to be hooked on Oxys and roxys but then when the prescriptions pulls began to get expensive, I turned to heroin. It was cheaper, stronger and just made sense. I like many other people that start banging dope got REALLY bad off. Luckily I ended up kicking the habit.

I just took a bunch of benzos and ate my suboxone. And I would just sleep a lot until I went through my withdrawals and then I was free from the physical dependency about 3-4 days later.

My advice would be to have a serious conversation with him bc it's really hard to get through to someone with a habit that strong. I know bc I've been there.

At the very least he needs to understand that he's looking at serious respiratory issues if he keeps smoking pills, especially at that rate. Sit him down and voice your concerns, and formulate a plan to make changes. The first step is taking the oxycodone orally or even intranasally, anything but smoking them off foil.
