Con-artist families preying upon the rave scene -- has this been documented?

I have this on my mind because my wife is currently watching episodes of The Riches (Eddie Izzard does a believable American accent, and is actually pretty good at serious roles!). The show was about a family of Irish Traveller con artists from the southern US, who get on the bad side of their chieftain, end up accidentally killing a rich couple, and assume their identity. Great story premise for a movie, not enough to carry a miniseries, but I digress.

I've heard of families of itinerant con artists who leech off the whole hippie / jamband scene, very good at dressing bohemian and spinning a sob story to get people to take them in and feed them for short periods of time, before moving on to somewhere else and doing the same thing. Someone once told me of a single mother of several kids, who bragged that she had not paid for food or lodging for her family for 4 years -- it's all about gaining the right people's sympathies :\

This got me thinking: has anyone ever pulled a similar kind of lecherous lifestyle by following the rave scene in any country, and taking advantage of the kindness of plurred-up partiers? It seems to me that to the right grifters, ravers would be ripe for the picking. I'm picturing a girl putting on a decidedly sexy rave outfit, sneaking into parties, pretending to be rolling, and striking up the right conversations with loved-up people who were truly rolling. That way, when she dropped the right hints about really being in a tough spot, and really being able to use some financial assistance of some kind, she'd find her marks very pliable. I could also see raver con artists distracting drugged up people, while the kids of the family made a killing on pickpocketing and rummaging through forgotten-about backpacks. It seems to me if such a family traveled constantly, and was good at keeping their ear to the ground and finding local parties, they could probably keep this up years before their antics were widely known.

Does anyone have any stories, either their own experiences or other people they knew, about being conned while raving?

candy kids that are broke because they spend all their money on glowsticks and drugs and dont work so they bounce around living on the couch of the person who falls prey for as long as possible, lol.
