Computer Use + Psychedelics

I think you guys are watching the wrong stuff and playing the wrong games.

Documentaries are like getting in touch with nature all over the world from a very comfortable space and a brilliant thing to watch for any trip. It can leave you intelligently discussing many thing you saw through out the rest of the trip and other tangents from those discussions. You might also learn too ;). Alternatively you can put your own music on, that is great for Planet Earth or Baraka

I agree. I love having computers and other devices around when i'm tripping. Everyone's different. Sometimes when I'm frying really hard in my house i put austin powers on my tv on mute just to have funny shit to look at lol.

i think this question was tacked before, but probably under different titles... anyway
personally i dont like to use computers when tripping. the screen seems too bright, the colors too much, the os gets confusing most of the times, and if i try to play something, i just get too tangled in controls. i just dont feel that integrated into the action to be able to feel it more.
might also have something to do with the stimulation i get on most psychedelics. i cant imagine myself just standing there for hours, playing. i just have to move around during the trip, and having changes of scenery is important. for me, the screen isnt a window to an everchanging scenery, but just a lit up glass pane with moving colors on it. not to mention i lose all track of plot (if i play say an rpg or adventure game).

even my damn mp3 player gets confusing at times :)

documetaries ... are probably the only thing i like/tolerate during a trip, but even these vary a lot, if i get too emotional during a trip and i watch animals hunt each other... ferocious ideas might come about.

I Spend a lot (most) of my time on a computer/smartphone/games console, but for some reason whenever i'm tripping I have little/no interest in all this technology mumbo jumbo.

Although, nobody has suffered mindfuck until they've played portal on acid, that was an intense day.

all I know, is some of the best, most hilarious trips of my life happened while playing Battlefield 1942 on PC years ago when it first came out. driving around in circles, blaring the horn, waving my head around(in game lol) freaking out made for some of the most intense trip-laughing ive experienced.
Hahahahaha, is is hilarious. My first shroom trip, actually, my first psychedelic experience I ate 3g of heavy duty boomers with 3 friends (we all ate 3g at least, I'm sure others ate a little more). Needless to say we were tripping tits. Anyways, at my peak I tried to play L4D on xbox. It was sending me terrible vibes, so I was like fuck this, went outside, and it vanished, one of the funnest times I've had :)! I recall I was inside trying to roll a blunt out of my gorge, and my friend went into the bathroom, came out 15 minutes later (i'm still trying to roll this thing) he's pouring sweat and was like 'I've been tripping out to myself in the mirror, I need to do something!' so I let him roll the blunt, I felt good that I helped him through that cause he was losing it for a second haha.

played portal on acid

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that is a good idea

computer love <3

yeah i doubt playing a video game for the entire trip would be entertaining but for a little while it could be sweet; graphics are hyperrealistic and quite astounding nowadays

i think it is nice to have a computer around simply for music if nothing else; the internet makes almost every song you've ever heard available in seconds

i think there is a playstation 1 game called simply "LSD" it looks quite surreal

I have slight HPPD symptoms and one of the main ones seems to be when I read.. Whenever I read (thru a screen or otherwise) a phantom "mouse" pops up in my visual field and highlights where I am currently reading. I do this all the time with my computer mouse, I attribute it to reading too many erowid pages while on a psychedelic drug.

I usually don't use the computer when im tripping; it seems to anchor my mind. However i have in the past out of curiosity used them in conjunction with RPG games, and that really takes the definition to new level. ;)

ive been watching TV whilst taking big hits of DMT before... was quite very funky electric experience to put it mildly. then everything went all aztec, geometric and i cant remember too much after

if im on MXE surrounded by electrical things i feel connected to all of them. sat on my pc listening to music, feel literally a part of the pc, infact i just feel like im all made out of liquid electrical goodness

I honestly like being at my computer tripping. On 2c-e I like to just spend hours listening to music with my headphones and chatting with people, sometimes stopping to look around and enjoy the visuals. I also sometimes find playing games like team fortress 2 tripping to be extremely fun, sometimes I actually do better when I am tripping, lol.

Watching shows I like on tv is alright too, but I can't stand the commercials tripping. I seem to become hyper-aware at how fake everything seems, how everything is just a sell for something you don't need. It really bugs me.

Computing on psychedelics is a good way to spend tripping time for me, but I really love computering in general, more then most people.

I'd better clarify what I meant at the start.

You know when you've spent 12+ hours on a computer (well, five or six would probably be enough, but let's say twelve) and you get up and your head feels like shit and your emotions are dulled and there's an unpleasant synthetic quality to everything? Or is that just me? Eyes strain, it's like an electronic hangover. Well, I did mushrooms while still recovering from that, and had a bad trip. I think there's a correlation.

I've used computers WHILE tripping before to no ill effect. Baraka on LSD was amazing. Still, I generally prefer to avoid screens, feel I have better things to do in the precious few hours of the trip.

yeah if ive been too long at a computer i feel kind dulled and "brain dead"

When I was first really into pychedelics and taking them weekly, was when I was a WoW nerd spending hours and hours and whole days at a time on the computer. I never had any problems and actually liked the drugs better back then. Maybe it was because I didnt have as much of a life as I do now and didn't have as many bad things to think of. Video games completely cleared my mind, so I didn't have anything bothersome to think of during the trip.

I think you must have been in turmoil with yourself about the games at the time of tripping, and you almost felt like sitting and playing games all day isn't productive or good for you. You might not feel like that normally but a trip is ALL ABOUT YOUR SUBCONCIOUS.

I could be wrong though, there def could be a connection.

i played grand theft auto 4 tripping it was fucking hilarious running people over and hearing the shit they say

now mind you i would never play this on a high dose cause i could see how that could impact your thoughts

^ All it would take is one old lady screaming whilst getting run over, and thats it your fucked for half a day. lmao!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that is a good idea
If you go ahead and do this, gather a few close friends & a large pile of weed. Was so much fun just enjoying the crazy game, passing joints and the controller around. :)

I almost always get on a computer at one point in my trip to communicate about the experience with other people.

Playing a game can be a pleasant distraction if one's having a slightly iffy come-up, providing one isn't nauseas of course... An action game without killing, or a puzzle game if that's your thing. I'm a racing games man, so it's Grid or F1 or Forza etc for me.

Technology seems to malfucntion around us when we're on mxe, so we dont use computers or TV on mxe.
