Common names for research chemicals

Indeed we don't need any street names for stuff that shouldn't hit the streets,
besides in this story there are probably two types of discussions between people:
Discussions where there aren't a lot of weird-named chemicals involved, in which case
there shouldn't be much confusion - and discussions in which there are, and suddenly
it becomes very important what the fuck you are doing with these chemicals...
If you enter this territory just be prepared to pronounce shit right. If you ask me, the
reasonably common phenethylamines have pretty clear abbreviated names albethey
clinical acronyms, and the common tryptamine nomenclature has been explained. If
you have any funky shit that is less common just read up on it. I don't see any other way.

And I'm having a hard time finding a substance that begs for a more pronouncable name
for common folks. Thats a GOOD thing.

i know this is a pretty significant bump but whatever. corrections and additions in bold. in the OP it says metacin which is a brand of paracetamol (acetaminophen)

I agree with Linearttransfrom and Roger&Me- if you can't keep a few shortenings of words that you probably should know (DMT- Dimethyltryptamine, MeO- Methoxyl, AcO- Acetyl and so on) then you probably shouldn't be playing around with powerful mind altering substances off the internets.

Besides, call me a cynic, but when I hear any RC being referred to on the internet by anything other than a string of numbers and letters I become suspicious. Who came up with a marketing-friendly name for this obscure compound? Could it be a bunch of unscrupulous bastards from the UK trying to sell some weird angry benzo that might make me see things and feel good, but certainly won't make me relaxed and sleepy? What the fuck am I really being sold? Probably lactose and a bunch of cathinones turned into shiney crystals with superglue. Give me some 4-HO-DPT, that sounds interesting and tasty. I associate numbers and letters with chemicals and good times, I associate fancy words with marketing, drug dealers (even if they call themselves research chemical vendors) and their bullshit.
