One of the behavioral health techs that worked at the facility said that he was on two years of 800mg Abilify Aristada. I was surprised.

Tell me about it.
I'm eulogizing my old self almost every single day.
Talking about how I used to be healthy and vibrant before all of this.

I can hardly speak properly anymore, can't formulate my sentences properly, my dick barely works and my joy is gone, just to name a few.

What's the logic of max dosing your brain with dopamine blockers, do the mental health workers even know the kind of damage they're doing? Are they really that stupid and brainwashed not to know.
There is no evidence dopamine blockers do any kind of damage.

The reality is they help a huge number of people function in mainstream society. That seems to be what this subforum is about.

The evidence is all around, it's us.
These drugs cause lots of troubles, and some may be irreversible.

I did not say that did not have side effects. Weight gain and metabolic side effects are well known.

But that is a small price to pay if it means you can hold down a job.

Are you able to meet your responsibilities in life? Like hold down a job? Pay your rent? Take care of your family?

You could indeed be unlucky, but these are some of the very problems antipsychotics were designed to treat. That said, sexual dysfunction is rare compared to antidepressants. Language problems are something that needs to be evaluated as part of a neuropsychiatric test. Many anticonvulsants cause this problem. But it can also be a component of schizophrenia. It is more common in schizophrenia than actual hallucinations. Drug withdrawal can cause these problems. Benzodiazepine withdrawal in particular is notorious for this.

Are you using any drugs legal or illegal? Have you quit them in the past year? Do you have a mental health diagnosis of any kind?

My diagnosis is schizophrenia, but I disagree with it.
I'm smoking weed from time to time.

It's harder than ever to hold down a job being on these injections.

Come on bro. You're guaranteeing you will have psychotic episodes in the future. Someone who has experienced psychosis associated with cannabis just ONE TIME, has a 60% chance of experiencing it in the future no matter the frequency of future cannabis use.

I don't like the idea of LAIs like Invega, but if you really think you can handle taking pills every day, it might be time to try clozapine to see if it works.

I have a friend who has had schizophrenia for 20 years. She got the point where I couldn't understand anything she said to me. Word salad. After 2 months on Clozapine, she was able to speak again.

Caplyta seems really promising. It probably won't knock someone out of full blow psychosis, but it can keep your stable with minimal side effects. I have bipolar disorder and take Seroquel. If I had the money for Caplyta I would totally try it. I can't bring myself to take an LAI, but I'm also good with my meds. Have all that Apple Health stuff setup to remind me to take my pills and so on. A therapist is great to make you stay on point.

Wishing you all the best. Stop using cannabis, and see if that resolves your issue. Could take months. Then reconsider dopamine blockers and try a newer version. I saw Rexulti mentioned earlier, but Caplyta seems better. Seriously, no alpha antagonism, no muscarinic antagonism. No weight gain, no fatigue, no risk of anticholinergic effects (dementia). Dopamine block/stabilization isn't super strong, but it could help you.

Full recovery is not possible, yep.
This poison takes away elements of yourself from yourself.
i know many people who fully recovered and the best example is zackthreepack who had 14 max dose injections and fully recovered in 2 years if you gave yourself that much time without going psychotic again you would have too

you said you had 8 injections i had 2, i can enjoy music now 7 months off it started 6.5 months off and have very rare days where i have feelings towards women however i know if i smoke weed that would come back as well, how were you 6-7 months off i read you said you were bedridden and couldnt do things for more than 10 minutes, was your libido there 6-7 months off? what about dick numbness, how was music 6-7 months off? did you get euphoria from weed 6-7 months off?

lots of hospitals do this its their policy its fucked up its not the doctors fault i mean it is but they are forced to inject people to let them leave

self reminder i will never go back to my old city because it will lead to me getting killed or doing very dumb shit getting me re injected

It was my doctors fault. They made the decision.I don't care about their policies...plain and simple.I care what they did to a sweet nice father like me and his beautiful family! FUCKING COCK SUCKER!!!!!!

Here's some of the best advice I heard so far to recover..

- Start fasting, this detoxifies the body and I've heard maybe greatly increases D2 dopamine receptor density.

- Eat healthy and work out, take a natural testosterone supplement.

- I've heard CBD helps remove 1/3 of antipsychotics from the brain and the St. John's Wort also removes them from the brain and on the inserts they say not to take it with Invega because it could lower the effects. You might have to find the right brands etc. to find one that's good.

- Take a bunch of other supplements that have been mentioned before in this huge thread.

- I've heard cold showers increase dopamine.

- I've heard that every time you smoke weed or cigarettes you're removing some antipsychotics from your brain, maybe other drugs help to do this too. Do this carefully and responsibly.

- Get Cerebrolysin injections, it's something that's made from pig's brains that the Russians developed to help to treat people with strokes.

- Get Mesenchymal intrathecal stem cell injections into the spine at a clinic in Mexico.
