Coming off Invega/Xeplion (paliperidone) injections v 12

If I don’t recover in a couple of years, I will try to request assisted dying through Athanasius. And may God grant me the request. It’s truly frightening to think about living like this indefinitely. I feel like a completely different person. I can barely manage simple tasks like washing the dishes. I feel so physically weak, emotionally numb and I’m 36 years old. I’ve lost my sense of living. It’s difficult to explain this strange empty feeling. I don’t want to be negative, but I never asked to exist. I don’t believe God would punish me more in an afterlife for wanting to escape living with the suffering of possible brain damage. May God have mercy on us.
i also think it's hard age to be destroyed by invega, when i started it i was 31 i felt in my prime, now i feel 33 but i feel like 40 plus

I suppose I should count myself lucky here because I’m only 23 atm soon to be 24 but I still feel destroyed by this drug, I’m moving in too my new place tomorrow and don’t have the energy to move things or sort stuff out which is shit, I just want this too end, it’s like a nightmare you can’t wake up from

i feel a bit better today, i walked for like 2 plus hours.

I don’t know what to do other than flick back and forth between apps and re read recovery stories I literally can’t think of anything else, I spend like 80% of the day on my phone and then just nap for 2 1/2 hours to make the day go by faster shits sad asf man

Hi everyone, just want to say I was a member of this forum several years ago in 2019. Was given the invega shot and it utterly destroyed me for about a year. I ended up struggling for years because I resisted treatment for my mental health condition after that. Eventually I found the right psychiatrist and I made about a 95% recovery. In some respects, I am better than before.

You can absolutely recover from this but it takes some time. The key for me was putting trust in the right psychiatrist and seeking treatment but getting off of the injections ASAP. I had to make several adjustments with the psychiatrist before I found the right balance.

Stay in there. Stay strong. And take the right medication. I know this is hell, but this experience will make you stronger if you decide for yourself to persevere.

Did anyone else have a moment of sever derealisation where everything went strange after the second shot? I feel like that was my dopamine system shutting down? I’ve never seen anyone mention it before :(

This forum is full of suicidal negative thoughts and it really can affect the person, trully just keep in mind neurogenesis is real and dont dramatize

They do not directly cause derealisation btw but trauma and stress does

Nah i remember i was sat in the waiting room in the ward and suddenly it’s like everything went weird and off focus, lasted about 20 minutes, like the last bits of delusional state was kicking out, I remember looking at three pictures and relating them to my psychosis which inwasnt wven aware I was in until about a month out of the hospital.. really mad at myself for not realising

I seen a guy say that he didn’t recover after 5 years from having 12 Invega shots, I don’t understand why some people metabolize it and then clear it and why some remain damaged for a long period of time 😭

It’s because it damages the brain, and brain healing is very volatile. My dad had a stroke and was back to himself after a day or 2, meanwhile some have the same damage and never recover. There’s no way of predicting how your brain will heal itself, but in general this medicine leaves permanent lasting changes, although sometimes they are subtle.

There are suicides after force drugging and there are suicides commited by people who never took psychiatric drugs

Yes. Still like that after four months.
