When I was prescribed invega the psychiatrist told me nothing but how 'modern and researched' drug it is. She didn't tell me anything about it's side effects, nothing. First months on this poison, literally all I wanted to do was inject her with this shit and tell her how modern this crap is. Smh
I can assure you I probably spend more time reading drug/medical literature than a doctor claiming a 1st generation AP metabolite is somehow "modern". Yes it's probably well researched, i.e. they know what it does to you long-term. They already know it's bad enough to create A WHOLE NEW GENERATION of medications!

Trust me the psychiatrist was just saying that to sound smart. There's better doctors out there.

Even when I urge others to get on ORT (opiate replacement therapy) or take something like chantix to quit smoking I'm very explicit about the potential side effects and they can be bad (more so for chantix i.e. nightmares and potential suicidal thoughts etc): always stay informed, never trust a doctor on their word alone though some are very wise some are not, do your independent research. Assume a degree of lying is going on about the side effects. "Common" means "everyone will experience this". "Uncommon" means you probably have a 10-20% chance, not 1%. Side effects are down played by big pharmaceutical companies so they can keep making big $$$. I get this. It's sad but true.

Stay strong guys. If anything, use your time to read and educate yourself. Read fiction. Eventually you'll fall in love with reading/the world again. There'll be a spark of passion one day. I know it can be hard to reignite that once it feels like its been lost. Stay strong everyone. <3

Good news ALL. I cannot wait my court case is in 6 weeks times. I cannot wait to meet the arseholes "janssen-cilag pty ltd" lawyers. I have asked for $50,000 compensation and lost of wages. I will be asking for a "injunction" to remove Invega Sustenna from the shelves here in Australia pending more investigation into long term side effects.

That good but no money in this world can take what they stole

I wish I feel good day after day I think we can recover not 100 %but enough for work and enjoy life again I wish all the people recover see you

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well (or as well as can be) I thought I would come by and post some positive news. I’m experiencing what can only be described as I think my first window. I’m almost three months from my last injection and can honestly say my thinking has suddenly cleared, my thoughts and speech are fluent and I’m feeling something very close to happiness for the first time in three months! All of this seems to have been caused by a cup of coffee. I feel alive again after feeling dead for so long. I appreciate this is probably only just a window, but being so early on I am definitely optimistic for recovery. And if this is what recovery feels like I’m definitely looking forward to it!

Spirits up guys, the only way is up from here. I’m definitely going to be drinking a lot more coffee.

Hopeful

You will get better soon. You have 2 more months to feel massive effects. If you workout, lose some weight and cut out sugar will feel even better.

Truth. Coffee just has that effect of boosting perceived productivity and vitalization. I didn’t start feeling objectively better til between about the 5th to 6th month mark. Every week I seem to be recapturing more and more of me. Still not completely healed but can definitely see the light. Losing weight I believe seriously helps.

Is anyone here on other antipsychotics? Is there any injectable antipsychotics I can take without blocking alcohol and cannabis from working? Abilify maybe?
I did some research and I found that Quetiapine, Zyprexa, Clozapine and Abilify will not block drugs such as cannabis and alcohol from working. Should I switch from Invega to one of those antipsychotics?
I'd say stick to invega and avoid marijuana like the plague. It's the only way this drug will render its effects. Try for the sake of getting clean, otherwise I reccommend quetiapiene, but I get psychotic symptoms off antipsychotics these days so I guess I am meant to be a cleanskin. Done my time, it's up. Who'd have thought that only a few good months of invega was all I needed to straighten me out.

3 months were the worst at least for myself. And I didn't personally have any windows or such, I just got better each day. I felt good one day, the day after that day I would feel even more better, so it was gradual for me, so it could just be that you've just made it through the worst part! =)

Avoiding MJ is most likely a good tip for someone recovering from a psychosis but in my case, I feel like MJ helped a lot with the recovery. Cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBG etc..) in MJ activate a protein called p-glycoprotein, which shuttles drugs out from the brain cells into the blood. Even CBD alone can do that, so if you want to be on the safe side, you can use CBD alone, so there will be no intoxicating effects or a chance for a relapse. CBD itself acts as an antipsychotic on high to moderate doses.

"P-glycoprotein is an important protein of the cell membrane that pumps many foreign substances out of cells."

"P-gp levels dramatically increased following long-term treatment with CBD, in a concentration- but not time-dependent manner"

Since I'm in this forum i see too much bullshit I leave seriously this forum it's a no sense seriously we can't recover 100% so all the people say they recovery 100% it's a big bullshit seriously 30 story of recovery but in reality it's zero lol the best for me is decisive 100% after 10 month lol no sense seriously
Bro I think your way of thinking is to blame here. If your mindset tells you that nobody can recover, you never will. If your mindset tells you, you can't do this or you can't do that, the chances of you failing in the particular task or such, are quite high in my opinion. If you see so much bullshit in our posts giving hope to people recovering from the most horrible drug ever invented, go and move on. I'm 8 months off 2 shots and I can no longer feel ANY side effects or any effects in general from paliperidone so I would just ignore Malakoff's posts.

Ignore me bro I don't care are you able to work its my question it's easy say I don't feel effect of paliperidone but are you able to work have girl enjoy life?

@PhucInvega and to the room, yes I think that might actually be the case for me too, my sleeping has suddenly taken a turn for the worse but I honestly don’t mind if it means I get to think again, even a little bit. In fact I think it might have to do with the fact that I now have some thoughts to occupy my mind whereas before was only emptiness. The only way is up and I honestly believe this, I have more motivation to do things now and feel more hopeful for the future. I can’t wait for recovery to come!

Amen! I’m looking forward to it. Luckily I haven’t really put on any weight with Invega so I’m hoping this means less of the drug stored in my fat.

I think it may have been a combination of the coffee actually working and starting to feel better.

For sure. The only reason I’m weary of it is because I had the same pattern where I’d drink coffee to feel better. In reality the effects only really last noticeably for like a month and each cup you drink has diminishing returns.

Really? It’s strange because I’ve been drinking coffee from the start with varying results but this is the first time I have actually felt just good. Its lasted since the coffee wore off as well. If you don’t mind me asking how many months are you from your last injection? And do you feel the full effects of coffee now?

Oh ok I see where your coming from. That seems like a good sign. Coffee seems to have the same effect on me now as it did when I was in the midst of being injected like a pig. Last injection was about 7 months ago (in five days). And I received like 8 injections of the highest dosage.
