Out of all the antipsychotics I’ve taken I have found Risperdal to be a much more tolerable medication for me. Abilify was a very bad one for me so I totally understand why you say it ruined your life. I got ptsd from the Abilify and the surrounding circumstances. It took me up to a year to physically recover and still recovering from the trauma. Feel free to ask questions if you want. By the way this community is very supportive so feel free to stick around and share anything you’re comfortable with.

I am sorry to read that, in my case they have been 3 shots of the injection, which I think makes it even worse! I’m glad you are full recovered now.
Do you remember the first things that made you say yo were improving?

I stopped thinking about what happened to me as much and started thinking about things that interested me

However, it’s my own fault for not wanting to take the pills, so they forced the injections on me. I have myself to blame for that in all honesty. Now I’m trying to make the best out of a crappy situation. I try to be as active as I can

I don’t think I had akathisia. Everything was gradual so it is really hard for me to recall exact timelines I’m sorry. My advice though with early stages of recovery is to avoid alcohol drink lots of water eat healthy , try to have a good sleep schedule , and try to challenge yourself with exercising and having a routine every day and sticking to it. I wish I exercised more in the early stages, I was pretty bedridden for a couple months. But it definitely gets better.

In the previous threads, there were people who took that medication and they said it was easier to heal from than what most of us have taken, invega sustenna. I’ll let @apsucks talk about his experience though, as I’ve never taken abilify maintena.

I believe that Merek did, or he was going to. I'd have to go back and read through his posts but I don't have the time to do so right now. He certainly microdosed and even took large doses of LSD very often, and spoke very highly of it. I am left wondering if it contributed to his recent psychosis...

I personally am a big believer in the healing powers of psilocybin, although I don't think it's recommended for people who have suffered with psychosis before.
 
I have to take 10mg ability pills cos I’m in the psych ward . They’re saying i might have to have an depot of ability. What’s the difference, as I am hearing from some of you that there is a massive increase of side effects on abilify? And if so I need to get a lawyer

Akathasia was the first to fad for me, experiencing non after one or two months off.

Avoid shots at all costs. Invega is the worst but they take forever to get out of your system if you do react adversely in any way

I had abilify injections and they where every bit as bad as the invega ones. I fucking hated that shit. I would recomend asking them for a better antipsychotic and just agreeing to take it orally. I am on zyprexa and get no side effects from it not even weight gain.

How is being locked up fun? When i think of the psych ward i think of being thrown in isolation, being bitched at by nurses for smoking weed and cigs constantly and i think of having no access to medical care. It's kind of the opposite of fun actualy
 
I smoked weed this weekend, it’s legal where I stay in Michigan. I noticed that it didn’t do anything at all, it’s like Invega really blocks everything. I was hoping I’d start laughing or feeling euphoric or something..but it was nothing at all
 
Also I can’t drink caffeine since having the Invega injection back in September.. it just keeps me up all night, does coffee, green tea or caffeine help any of you?

I found both invega and abilify caused me to be very restless. I don't remember caffiene making it worse though on invega and i drank alot of coffee in the psych ward
