I think the weight thing is big. It can lead to a lot of indirect social frustrations. Happy I was able to deal with it, was like being a new person.
You can lose weight while on invega or not on it, being in a caloric deficit you're probably eating alotDid you manage to lose the weight from invega sustenna? I gained 25 lbs after my shot. I have been going to the gym for 2 months and eating healthy. I have not lost one pound.
Do you remember what month off you started to lose the weight?I think the weight thing is big. It can lead to a lot of indirect social frustrations. Happy I was able to deal with it, was like being a new person.
That’s actually not true at all, I ate only pickles while on Invega Sustenna and still was 40 pounds overweightYou can lose weight while on invega or not on it, being in a caloric deficit you're probably eating alot
It hasn’t helped at all I haven’t noticed 1 positive thing my intelligence has gone down I developed anhedonia, I’m very suicidal I’m less healthy,I just feel like shit all the time I used to be very active and ambitious now I’m bedbound and can’t even get up in the morning. I had 2 shots my last one was in April n things haven’t seem to gotten betterFeeling stuck is very common. Do you think invega helped you?
How long have you been offI think I’m starting to get me myself back but the depression is unbearable
How long u been off? Have u taken psych meds before thisI agree, I eat very healthy, grilled chicken and vegetables for almost every meal. I work out everyday, cardio and weight lifting. Nothing has changed. I think it’s due to the prolactin levels being raised. I used to be attractive and confident, invega took that away too.
The consensus on here is that invega sustenna is a terrible medication. Almost all of us have fallen on hard times due to invega. Suicidal ideations are very common as I was once there. The first couple of months off the medication seem to be the hardest, at least in my experience. I was also very active, a professional painter, if there is such a thing, and going to school. Now I watch movies, tv shows and play video games. Invega takes the soul out of you and leaves you with almost nothing. You are not alone in this.
I’ve been off since April I’ve been on olanzipine and abilify when I was younger but I always stopped taking them I was never on them for more than a couple weeksHow long u been off? Took my confidence away as well how long have u been offI agree, I eat very healthy, grilled chicken and vegetables for almost every meal. I work out everyday, cardio and weight lifting. Yeah I have similar problems as well, I was originally under the impression that now since I'm currently excercising frequently and am on a calorie deficit that surely I'd start to gradually loose weight but it turns out I was so wrong. I just weighed myself yesterday and I went from being 193 pounds, which I was gradually and consistently loosing before invega, to being 264 like what the hell. Just earlier today I went to get my blood drawn to check for prolactin, testosterone, and thyroid glands to see if there's anything abnormal. In the meanwhile I'm going to undergo a rather expensive treatment in an attempt to boost my metsbolism. If only the damn psychiatrist that prescribed me invega would cover all the costs for the treatments not covered by insurance haha. For "reasons" I'm highly considering testosterone replacement therapy to see if that somehow does anything for me.I agree, I eat very healthy, grilled chicken and vegetables for almost every meal. eating that much acidic food is dangerous and can lead to acidosis lolThat’s actually not true at all, I ate only pickles while on Invega Sustenna and still was 40 pounds overweight
Im on abilify and gained more weight than i did with invega, sure prolactin sucks but there is something else going on that lowers metabolismI agree, I eat very healthy, grilled chicken and vegetables for almost every meal. I have been off of invega sustenna for 9 months. I took other psych meds in the psychiatric ward for 1 week before I started taking invega. I have not been on any antipsychotics since September of 2022.How long u been off? Have u taken psych meds before this
9 monthsTook my confidence away as well how long have u been off
If you don’t mind me asking, do you know what the treatment that you are going to be taking is called? If it is personal that is fine. I am starting a NAD IV treatment on Monday that is supposed to boost metabolism as well. It is $750 a treatment and insurance doesn’t cover it either.Yeah I have similar problems as well, I was originally under the impression that now since I'm currently excercising frequently and am on a calorie deficit that surely I'd start to gradually loose weight but it turns out I was so wrong. No it's fine I'll tell you, the only one that was somewhat personal was the testosterone replacement therapy which I'm doing in an attempt to improve my low libido/ED that invega caused. So I was given the option for NAD injections, similar to your case but much cheaper than the IV version as well as something called "can't weight peptides" which is $84 though I didn't consider it since it's just a hunger suppressant apparently. The one I'll start soon is something known as the slim elixir, I believe it was like $350 or so if I remember correctly, it's probably cheaper on it's own since that includes the cost of speaking with a nutritionist too. I was going to call the clinic just now to ask what it consists of since I forgot, "thanks" to invega for making my memory absolute trash, but they're closed at the moment so I unfortunately can't tell you exactly what it consists of but I remember taurine being one of the ingredients. Basically it contains multiple vitamins and supplements that simultaneously work together to improve the metabolism, increase energy consumption, decreases fat retention, etc. If you're interested I can tell you in detail on monday or so what exactly it consists of.If you don’t mind me asking, do you know what the treatment that you are going to be taking is called? Glad to know there's some people that can eventually burn off the antipsychotic-induced weight gain. Before I recieved invega nearly half a year ago now I was becoming quite confident and satisfied with my overall appearance, seeing how I was consistently becoming slimmer while having more defined muscle mass from going to the gym was making me consider starting a relationship soon, like while I was going to college or something. But now I'm fat as hell and am a whole 84 freaking pounds overweight now as opposed to just 13 pounds overweight beforehand and went from wearing medium shirts to XL ones. Of the many side effects I'm currently experiencing that's the only one that is immediately noticeable. Because of it I was hesitant to return to the gym as I was unsure of how people would react to my now hideous, obese body. Sure enough a friend of mine there quickly noticed and asked why I had gained so much weight though I knew she was just curious and had no bad intentions, so I explained to her what occurred and what lead to such rapid weight gain. It's honestly depressing knowing that if it had not been for invega I'd probably look and feel pretty darn good both mentally and physically by now.I think the weight thing is big. Thank you. Hopefully your supplements work. I was on supplements as well. Hardy Daily Essential Nutrients. It was up to 8 pills a day and they didn’t have much of an effect on me. Yours might work though. The injections and IV treatments seem to have the best chance of eliminating invega since they seem to be stronger. I could be wrong though as I don’t know much about them. I do know NAD helps with withdrawal of heroin addicts. There is a previous member of this forum who took 10 treatments of NAD IV and he said it made him better. Aiden21 was his username. Hopefully we both heal.No it's fine I'll tell you, the only one that was somewhat personal was the testosterone replacement therapy which I'm doing in an attempt to improve my low libido/ED that invega caused. How has it been for you my3 months
I started taking Wellbutrin it doesn’t seem to help my depression I’m very suicidal atp even I have a loving family that would care if I wasn’t here but it just doesn’t seem to help I was depressed before the Invega but now it’s just a extra burden I carryThank you. HelpMeInvega what have you improved on in 16 months? Thanks, I highly doubt it though, it’s been 16 months and hardly no sign of improvement
No unfortunately it doesn't seem like it as far as I'm aware. I tried contacting him a few days ago asking if he's fine but unsurprisingly he never responded. We can only hope he's currently in a psych ward or something and hasn't responded because they restrict him from using a phone, but even that seems unlikely as it's been too long. Poor guy was only 19 too and had his whole life ahead of him.No word from Merek still?
yesdoes anyone know if dopamine rush comes back?
Wellbutrin is an antidepressant reuptake inhibitor and the effects on dopamine are weak even in people not on antipsychotics.. This is significantly different than dopamine agonists like cabergoline and pramipexole which are used to treat high prolactin and parkinson symptoms among other things. It zeems ridiculous that any psych would prescribe wellbutrin a dopamine agonist to someone who is on invega a dopamine antagonist, of course it wouldn't work and on top of that side effects of wellbutrin can include suicidal ideation and seizures, just not worth it
