Comedown reduction tactics - any of them really work?

I should know the answer to this given the experience I have but most of that was before forums like this existed so information wasn't so available.

These are the rules I've gleaned:

1. Don't overdo it - the main rule!
2. No other drugs at the same time including booze, dope etc
3. Get a lot of sleep
4. Get proper food down before and after
5. Get multivits in before and after
6. Keep some benzos in reserve
7. Keep hydrated

What I'd like to know is whether piracetam has a place other than pre-loading in order to improve the effects, if 5-HTP after rolling really makes any difference and if there are any other tactics or substances to reduce the god-awful, hollowed out feeling some people get that can last days?

If you go on my Profile and on my blog, i have a PreRoll diet i follow. Which i also use as a Post Roll diet.

Before hand, i would get a nasty comedown.
But since ive been trying it out, I can still kind of feel the comedown but its MUCH smoother after eating the foods i list and getting sunlight.

Never tried 5-HTP

VITAMIN C. Drink OJ intead of water. And alcohol is the worst thing for it. I always end up drinking FAR more than he intended because I doesn't feel drunk. And you won't feel drunk but you can be sure you'll have an epic hangover. And like andronicus said especially if your goin hard all weekend benzos are lifesaver if you have a serotonin crash.

Cool I'll check it out.

I've used 5-htp to get rid of the dreaded zaps but not as a comedown aid. So I know it does something but wondered if it would help with the less acute but more dreary downsides.

lets not use SWIM please :\

imo 5HTP does wonders for the comedown, and weed haha :)

i'd keep a bowl handy and few benzos if ya got any. keep hydrated!! water water water. always keep water with you when you're rollin. obviously don't over do it.. keep it to one or two doses. (if you need more than that, you're rolls are bunk. cut and weak) roll with a friend so you can comedown together instead of alone. coming down alone leads to such depression. i find that if you're with someone else, you'll feel more distracted instead of focusing on how shitty you feel. you need to realize, the comedown is harsh. you're body is so spent, it just wants rest. understanding and expecting it will help get over it. just remember, IT WILL END!

some good advice on here.

over did it again last weekend, brain zaps are an absolute bastard. my self control is lacking too often

I actually find taking opiates, benzos or pot (even a beer or two - not more) during the comedown makes it a lot more manageable. At least for me, doing opiates or pot while rolling has no real impact of the severity of the comedown.

That's not to so that drug combinations are be taken with caution, but IME the main things that affect the severity of the comedown are:

* Set and settings
* Initial dose
* Redosing 3+ hours after dosing.

The worst comedowns I've had were all when I redoses at 3-4 hours after the initial dose. I got paranoid, nasty audio hallucinations, hot + cold flashes, it was difficult to concentrate and I had pretty extreme dysphoria. Not fun. Don't redose guys and girls! ;)

It's not the comedown itself but the next morning, which is hell and then the next week or so feeling totally scooped out, irritable, tired and so on.

Weed does not help at all. I found when I used to so that my short term memory really suffered badly. I enjoyed the chillout session but felt even worse the next day.

I have a regime which consists of eating before I got out and then whilst I'm on it I don't drink or smoke much if at all. When I get back I drink a meal replacement shake with added salt in it to get meal in my gut + vitamins and drink some green tea. I follow up with another shake the next morning so I've "eaten" a meal which I find needs to be done before I feel at all good. I usually also down some sports drinks when thirsty. All this kind of helps but I was wondering if I ought to try adding piracetam to the mix and some 5htp and maybe some strong antioxidants like pycnogenol. Do people find piracetam helps the days following? Are they pre-loading and then post-loading or just one or othe other?

One thing I find I sometimes need, if having to face people is Modafinil which seems to cut through the zombie state and allows me to function relatively normally in terms of getting shit done.

Benzos work like an eraser. Or water to a fire.

Most importantly for longterm is to get 8+ hours of sleep and eat food.

Stick to one drug, or figure out what combinations you're going to try before you roll. MDMA+MDA/MDMA+D-amp+Caffeine/MDMA+M-Amp/MDMA+weed ect. Watch out for research chemicals and random "off-brands" of MDMA like Piperazines.

I roll sometimes once or twice a week. Never had any bad side-effects other than fatigue and tolerance.

Happy rollin'

Its a well known fact that after people take mdma, they do some K as it smooths there comedown.
If you do quite a bit too it can leave you in a good mood for days.

Loads of people i was hanging around with all done mdma, i did loads of ketamine and all week the next week everyone else was coming down and like urghh arghh... I on the other hand was in such a great mood, and ringing around places and looking online and really looking for work in which; i got a job lol. :)

still got minor brain zaps 5 days later.... urgh. took many supplements, slept and ate good food as usual (normally stops adverse after effects) but doesn't seem to have worked this time. serves me right tbh

haven't experienced any really noticeable depression/anxiety though, or any major fatigue etc. just brain zaps. hmm

Lots of people seem to forget to eat when they go to a rave, or have a hard weekend or whatever.
Eating is important as is sleep and drinking water/fluids.

I always eat, its the most important thing to me over taking any drugs. So if i am out of the picture of getting off my nut for a good few hours, so be it, at least my belly aint rumbling all the way home! :)

That's why I take meal replacement shakes - made of protein powder, powdered oats and a bit of Lo-Salt, all made up with full-fat milk. You're getting the main food groups in good quantities in a single drink. As you know, trying to force down solid food can be too hard. I've sat there trying to swallow a mouthful of toast for 20 minutes before!

I had this idea too! especially as Whey Protein also helps raise serotonin levels too.
But you will probably get it confiscated on entry of a rave or something :(
Think you have a big bag of something else lol

whey protein helps raise serotoinin? i have loads of it here! need to start taking some, been slacking with the fitness recently
