Comedown Cures

Im pretty sure its not just me who has experience the horrible comedowns of ecstasy. Everyone gets them at one point or another. So I thought I'd start off a bit of a list of recommendations to help people with their comedowns, wether it be to help them sleep or just get rid of that grotty feeling.

The things that I'd recommend is drinking orange juice, before and after your night out/rave, a nice hot bath, and a FAT joint. Although bare in mind marijuana doesn't make everyone feel better. I've also heard eating spicy foods like curry on the day of the night out/rave can help too.

Homemade meals if possible such as, broiled chicken and cooked, brown rice, soups with chicken, chicken and dumplings, spaghetti with meatballs and cheesy bread, meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes, mac and cheese with bread and butter, protein smoothies with lots of fruit, oatmeal with raisins, cinnamon, and sugar, lots of juice and gatorade. You want food that is easy on the mouth and stomach and gives you lots of carbs and protein to help the body recover.

Also taking a multi-vitamin/mineral will help too.

Watching some of your favorite tv shows and even reading will help as to beat the "wandering" mind a lot of people get on comedowns.

I tried 5-htp,multivitamins and good meal and let me tell you,there is no better comedown cure than being in love.No comedown from 240mg MDMA and little bit of meth.Just nice afterglow.I have usually killer comedowns and two week long depression.This time i was back to baseline after two days.Absolutely no depression.There must be some strange neurochemistry behind it.

HOLY CRAP!!! How do you eat all those heavy foods coming down??!!! crazy kid....

Don't know if they come in other countries, but here in Oz I have a Berocca... basically a big disolving tablet which you drop in a glass of water, it has a crap load of all different types of vitamins. They are the best!
Apparently beef has something in it which releases something in your body which is really good at recovering from mdma. Carbs are the best, so mix those two and have a beef lasagne!!
 
Drink water, 500 mg of Vitamin C, Drinking regular orange juice, green tea and other stuff containing antioxidants, hot cocoa down your neck. These drinks contain high levels of tryptophan, which not only helps you sleep, but helps rebuild serotonin,

there's nothing like good old fashioned meat and dairy to help you rebuild your serotonin levels. That's because tryptophan, the amino acid that helps make serotonin is mostly found in high-protein foods like beef, pork, tuna, KFC, eggs, dairy and good old Vegemite. If you're a vegetarian or don't do dairy, chow down on tofu, tempeh, kidney beans, almonds and bananas.

Now you've loaded up on tryptophan, the next thing to do is give yourself a little sugar hit. The insulin your body produces to deal with the sugar also helps the tryptophan to get into your brain. There it gets converted into 5-HTP, where another chemical transforms it into wonderful happy serotonin.

Things not to do

Whether it's a few RTDs on the deck, or storming the local pub, getting into the booze is not such a good post-clubbing idea neither is Popping a benzo. Sure, it will take the edge off a comedown, and help you sleep, but only temporarily. In the end, it'll just make you feel even more stink later on. A weed fest. Hmm, this is a tough one. Smoking up does take the edge off, will make you want to eat something (good) and make you drift off eventually... The main thing to watch out for is a visit from Mr Paranoia.

Another cheeky line? Dude, not only are you putting off the inevitable, but getting through the afternoon with a wee bit more speed is going to turn your comedown into a full-blown crash.
 
try an ativan or 1/2 a xanax, a Naked fruit drink, a banana and orange, and a fuzzy blanket. Also, wear your ipod. Or put on some Family guy and talk amongst your fellow crashing friends.

I find that being with friends is the easiest way to handle it most of the time.

my comedown cures are:
1) warm shower
2) brush teeth
3) drink cold water & one 50mg 5htp
4) eat banana or bread or greasy food
5) a little bit of weed but not too much
6) sleep :|
 
Comedown Cure

Ingredients needed:
One/Multiple Etards
lots of good Cannabis
blankets
pillows
candles
comfort foods
snacks(I personally recommend Kashi granola bars right before you go to sleep. I've eaten a granola bar after my last four rolls, and felt way better the next morning.)
good tunage
no stress/drama

directions:
turn on "God Is A DJ" by Faithless
wrap up Etard(s) in blankets and shower in pillows
smoke dank headies
think/talk about how amazing the experience was
opiates/opioids and benzodiazepines work wonders(I personally have a single dose of heroin to insufflate after i come down tonight, only my second time dancing with Harry)
good movies
sleep
sleep
oh, and did i mention sleep?

Does anyone find that Cannabis makes them feel worse? It helps me most of the time, but sometimes it just makes me mong out even more and feel like shit. Or it brings me back up which is really irritating.
 
The best comedown cure is a good dose of a powerful opiate!!! I would say if your not opiate dependent then Kratom should work good and its legal. If you use opiates alot then use whatever gets you really high.

I use Poppy Pod Tea after everything I do whether its MDMA or psychedelics even, its the cure all for comedowns and it works for everything!!! Also I find after a good night of rolling downing some PPT is just as good as the roll itself and is something to look forward too rather then dreading the comedown!!!;)
 
Nice blast of opiate induced bliss is a sure fire way of blowing any MDMA comedown out the water, but with this being a harm reduction forum, I don't recomend you start taking smack =D. If I aint got H, I just normally munch a few multi-vitamins, drink OJ/water, just generally be healthy, replensish your body of nutrients, or something like that :D!
 
i find jst chilling with friends, juice some funny show and lying flat on my back doing NOTHING lol. theres nothing worse at a party when its clearly time for a comedown and some ass is playing drum and bass full blast trying to pretend we're all still raving. its more dperessing than listening to some chill out tunes chatting and relaxing a bit.

i actually like the "wandering mind" stage of coming down. so i usually just stay quiet and giggle a bit if a friend's joke is funny enough. also while coming down, usually i'm not in the mood to do the "recap" of what happened last night. i just say "t'was fun" and save the funny details for later when i'm completely sober.
 
Sleep sleep and sleep.

If you are having trouble getting to sleep then I would suggest taking a benzo or some other sleep aid. I love curling up in my bed after a night of rolling and getting some rest, I also like to nap off and on all day the next day too.

What can I say, I think I was a cat in a former life. ;)
