Combo question / need help (clonazepam and hydrocodone)

Hey, this is my first post so sorry for not introducing myself better, but I have a question about taking clonazepam and hydrocodone together.

Earlier I took 2mg klonopin which is prescribed & I take it almost every day. I have a semi-high tolerance with it. Well, I want to take some hydros just for the heck of it that I got a while back for a root canal. The 2 weren't prescribed together & I obviously know it's not the safest combo. But is this dose something that would hurt someone (2mg + 5mg)?

I have anxiety about pill mixing & that kinda stuff, so I was just wondering. Thanks everyone.

be careful mixing opiates and benzos, if you are going to do so, then take a lower dose of each drug than you would normally take if you were just taking each drug on it's own. Remember that you can always add more, but you can't take less if you take too much.

I would recommend starting low, splitting the hyrdo in half and only taking half a pill if you are going to experiment with this combo, then maybe take the other half in a few hours if you are not feeling the effects. Be very careful mixing two CNS depressents though. Very very careful.

Hey thanks for the reply. I guess the only way to 'really' be careful would be to just not take a lortab. I really have an urge too though. I've already taken a respectable amount of klonopin @ 2mg about 3 hours ago, so I can't go any lower there. I normally wouldn't care about the mix but lately you hear stories about people OD'ing with combos like this. I wonder if they are taking way higher does though, or are mixing lots of alcohol into the equation. Thanks for the reply though it was helpful.

On the face of it, 5mg hydrocodone is a pretty low dose and you should be fine. It wouldn't even really be a recreational dose for most people, although if you are opiate naive you might get something from it and combining it with benzos will certainly boost the effects.

Safety questions can be a really tricky call for us to make over the internet.. Yes the dose of hydocodone you are considering is really low (equivalent of 5mg oral morphine according to the converstion chart, or 50mg tramadol, or 33mg dihydrocodeine) and yes people who OD generally will have taken a much higher dose than that or have added in a third downer but if you've never mixed them before you don't know how you will react so we can't way you will definitely be okay. Do you have any experience with hydrocodone? If in doubt, as Mugz said just take half a pill, check you are okay with that, then the other half. Occasionally opiate naive people can be really sensitive to opiates (have known someone have respiratory depression from 10mg of oral morphine - roughly equivalent to 10mg hydrocodone - with no benzos, so they may well have struggled with 5mg plus benzos, although this is pretty unusual)

As a general rule, if you are ever concerned about combining drugs, try a really small amount first and build up.

I was taking my prescribed vicodin for about 4 months & then decided to pop one Norco 10/325 with one Soma 325mgs & I was used to both separately but when I took them both that 1st time, I was really floored, like really high for like 2 hours so becareful & enjoy!

mixing CNS depressants certainly is not to be taken lightly, but 5mg of hydro with your regular benzo dose is not really overdose material.
