Hey all Ive been taking advice here a long time but not posting. I have taken 1200mg of gabapentine and 6 beers and I want too know if 1 mg of xanex would be ok. Very experienced user. Thanks

^I disagree with this advice. I hope the OP is ok and didn't have a crazy black out or anything. "Very experienced user" doesn't give us much to go on, for future reference Wholmes1276 it's a lot more helpful if you are specific, like say how much of each drug you would normally take on it's own and tell us how long it's been since you took the gabapentin and drank the beer. Also it's not very wise to mix alcohol + gabapentin + benzos. I would really just stick to one or the other.

if you want to take the xanax, do NOT drink more than 2-3drinks and dont take more than 0.5-1mg of xanax. this is your first and last warning; heed this warning and follow through, and you will live to see another day :)

Hey all sorry I took so long to get back I'm gonna try n start trying to chime in more and help out. As for that night I had had about 1200mg of GABA and took the 1mg xanex then took another mg about 2 hours later and had maybe 8-10 beers over 4 hours. Once I went to bed omg I slept AWSOME. Thanks for your responses and I will add for readers harm reduction sake that I'm 6'4 270 so I often have to take more than most recommend. Thanks all. Be safe.
 
Also if you read this and are not expirianced with gabapentine or (lyrica) then start low, around 100 mg. that drug is one that hits hard the first few times and quickly starts taking more and more. I've never had withdrawal effects at any dose tho so just start low and it's a really great combo even without the benzo. Thanks again.
 
/\ /\ And just for clarification for any who might not know, gabapentin is NOT the same drug as Lyrica. (It is a little unclear on the above post). Lyrica is the brand name for pregabalin. Gabapentin is the generic name for Nuerontin. They are similar types of drugs but are by no means the same medication.
 
Oh sorry and lastly I actually used klinopin instead of xanex but have since used the xanex and seemed pretty much the same. It's not a combo you want to do often or if you have any early plans the next day. As always go slow and be safe combining alcohol and benzos. Some say the combo should never be done but occasionally I love the combo you just really have to know your limits and start low.
 
Yes that's true there not the same drug however I find there effects to be basically identical but for pharmacology purposes your dead on. Thanks

Knowing the difference between gabapentin and pregabalin, alprazolam (Xanax) and clonazepam (Klonopin) is important, IMO. Even though the subjective effects of things may seem similar to you, it's worth making a distinction because there can be different outcomes when mixing two or three different substances.

I agree 100% with Halif.

Not to be nitpickin it to death but it could make a BIG difference. Even though they are in the same drug class they can have very different effects (and problems). All benzos are not created equal and lyrica and Neurontin have some huge differences from a pharmacological standpoint.

Also please be careful mixing these 3 different types together. Alcohol and benzos combined by themselves can be dangerous. That awesome sleep you got could very easily turn to not waking up!
