Opioids Combining Benzos and DXM to help with opiate WD?

The situation is as follows:

I've been using opiates every day for the last four months and 3-4 times a week before that for half a year (mostly 1g heroin smoked a day, irregularily complemented by est. 100 mg methadone when H was not available).

My supply (read money) has run out, and so I've decided that this will be it, I'm a gonna stop that shit.

Luckily, I've stocked up on the usual comfort meds when I saw doom dawning, so I'm well equipped with loperamide, 400 mg diazepam, DPH and St Johns Worth/Camomile tea for sleeping as well as vitamins/magnesium to keep my levels up. I'll also get some weed delivered soon, so I will be set to make it through this

My question however is, are there any harmful interactions between the benzos and DXM? During past WDs, a second plateau DXM trip served nicely to take my mind off the symptoms (never went above that), but this is the first time I have benzos available.

I USTFSE, but the results were inconclusive, so I'd like to make sure I don't suffer unnecessarily or die a horrible death from combining diazepam with DXM.

Actually, combining DXM with St. John's Wort is much much worse than combining with any benzo. Rule of thumb for DXM/benzo combination: Halve each dose the first time. Next time halve only the benzo dose. Go from there. However, it is of utmost importance that you do NOT add either alcohol or opioids to this combo. Of course, not waking up at all would ease your WD's permanently...

Having said that, loperamide is actually sometimes more effective than either DXM or benzos. Now lope is in fact an opioid. But the amount that it affects you in that regard is quite small in most cases - usually just binding to a few receptors will mitigate mild WDs. So can you take DXM, a benzo, and lope all at once? Yes. Just don't take them at the same exact time because the lope utilizes the liver in applicable ways to the rest. So you have to determine just how effective the lope alone is first. If you've never tried it for WDs, start with say, 12-20 2mg pills. NO MORE THAN 20 your first time. I recommend 12. 2 does the trick for some people, and 20 does nothing for others, go figure, but you need to err on the safe side. Lope takes a couple hours to peak. So give it time. Once you have an idea where you're at, add the DXM (assuming you are very familiar with DXM, take 1/4 your low 2nd plateau dose. If you are not familiar with DXM, take only 45-60 mg.) Wait one more hour - you'll know what's up by then. Lastly, take your benzo, again, a max of your lowest feelable dose (NOT your rec dose). If you're using xanax, and 2mg knocks you out, take only 1/2 mg and no more, regardless of effectiveness. This combo, properly used, is very, very effective at mitigating opioid WDs. But it takes a few times to dial in and there is some risk.

Alcohol is out of the question, I got sick of that stuff years ago and haven't touched it since. Regarding lope, it works great for me when in WDs, eliminates nearly all my symptoms, but I'll have to do a rapid taper, last time I used it for this I ended up dependent on loperamide. My goal is to get completely clean, at least until next month, so I can see what it's like again for a change. :)

I'll heed your warning regarding DXM and St Johns Worth, I guess there is a risk of serotonine syndrome? I'll save up the St Johns then until I run out of DXM. Also, your rule of thumb and further explanations of a DXM/benzo combo seem very reasonable. I'll start low, wait out the peak times and redose afterwards if necessary, after waiting some more (most likely just some more DXM, as I'm familiar with it and diazepam has a ridiculously long HL).

Glad to hear the combo is effective when used properly, should make the next week a bit more bearable. Thanks again mate!
